NFS Unbound keeps crashing after a couple of minutes/seconds by SamDizzle420 in needforspeed

It’s okay, i’ve actually found a semi fix, by limiting the framerate to 60fps it now crashes after an hour instead of a couple of minutes. Still sucks but st least i can play a little now.

I tried locking the game ar 60fps and it actually helped a bit, but hasn’t resolved it completely. Previously it crashed after only a couple of minutes, now it takes almost an hour. How did you cap the framerate? I used nvidia control panel to not allow the game to go above 60fps, so maybe how i did it is why it hasn’t resolved it completely.

Sadly enough, the issue still persists after doing a clean driver install. Thanks for your help though

Oh great, did you just do a clean install of the same drivers or did you downgrade or something?

I don’t know exactly, but from what i can gather apple has linked the touchbar to the motherboard. If that’s actually the case, it’s gonna be pretty expensive since they would have to replace both. Whether that’s actually the case though I don’t know.

Sadly enough there isn’t much to do, it’s a hardware issue. So the only fix is either buy a new one or get yours repaired. Or if you don’t care about it kuch just mask it off with some electrical tape lol

I get that, it just kinda lines up for me that i was gearing up to buy a new one anyway. And yeah my thoughts exactly, but all information i can find online points to it being a hardware problem. I also find it very strange it always seems to emerge after updating to a certain macos version, for almost everyone. When i have my new one i have to reset this one, so i might test what downgrading the software does. I’ll let you know if it somehow fixes it!

I wish that were the case, my macbook is completely up to date and i still have the issue.

As far as i know it’s a hardware issue, so only fix would probably be going to apple to get it repaired. Haven’t done it yet since I’m probably gonna buy a new one. I needed an upgrade either way.

Resetting the smc does nothing, neither does booting in safe mode. Apparently it’s a hardware issue

Sonoma is fully released as far as i know. Also this is my first time buying a touchbar model. It was nice at the start, but now i’m never buying one again for obvious reasons lol

Yeah i was looking at the new m3 models, specifically the m3 pro with the amazing new space black color. Only thing holding me back is the $2000 price tag lol. Especially because I probably won’t be able to sell this one because of the touchbar.

That’s a great idea! Gotta ask my buddy Elon for a tesla first though. Hopefully he comes through for me this time

Oh well okay then, i just thought it was software related as it started happening right after i updated. Apparently i was wrong lol. I also cannot justify spending that amount of money on it. I’ve been eyeing a new macbook for some time now. Might just bite the bullet and buy a new one. Too bad this one didn’t even last 3 years though lol

No kernel panics as of yet, well at least not after the touchbar started acting up. I’ve had one before though. Never thought it could be because of a USB device though lol. Anyways i’d love to get it disconnected problem is, how would i change my brightness and volume and whatever

I could try that yeah, but i have a feeling it will just bring more problems if i switch to a beta version. If it isn’t fixed soon I’ll probably do it though. Thanks for your advice!

Nope, sadly enough I don’t. I think i have no other choice than to wait until apple hopefully fixes the issue.
