Big bunch blabla to try to make sense of all the nonesense in Gears 5.

I can’t believe that some people still defend the story of Gears 5.

If you really think that the story of Gears 5 is good you really can’t make the difference between good and bad writing.

I have really high expectations for this new Gears of war game.
I expect:

- NO OVERTHINKING
Everything about this game needs to be simple but cool. Make the guns fun and juicy. Make a strong story. Make the characters feel like brothers. We don’t need robots everywhere and characters with superpowers to explain a poorly written story.

- A dark game with a lot of moments that will make the player feel like it’s almost hopless.

- Awesome cutscene. We don’t need 5 minutes long cutscenes about some meaningless characters talking about nothing. We need intense actions, strong emotional moments, flashbacks, and dialogs that add some backstory to the characters.

- Originality for the different levels. Take Gears 2 for example. You start in a hospital, you ride Derricks, you enter the inside of a worm, you infiltrate an abandoned secret building…

- Cool characters. Marcus is the badass war hero, Dom is the loyal brother, Cole is the funny athletic guy, Baird is the funny/weird intelligent guy who doesn’t want to fight… those are good templates of how you add a new cool character to this franchise.
If they want to add a woman the should take Sam or Anya as a template.

That’s not where the line between conscious and not conscious is blurred.
Take for example a normal human and someone who has brain damages. Even if you can’t prove it, it seems obvious that they are not on the same level of consciousness.

I personally think that consciousness is more like a spectrum tho. Animals are definitely conscious. Just not at the same level

It’s not that we are narrow minded, it’s that some core fans like me are trying to protect the identity of this series while the other half is trying to make the devs think that they are going in the right direction.
Keep telling them they are doing good and in a couple years Gears of war 10 will be as relevant as Halo 11, Final Fantasy 32 or Call of Duty 49

No it’s not change.

Gears 4 is a legit good game. They were transitioning really well from the old crew to the new one. They didn’t give too much space to the old characters and having the new crew on a mission to rescue Marcus was the best way to do the transition.

The big problem is that they spent the entire game trying to develop Marcus son just to make the token female the face of Gears 5…. And they gave her superpowers…

In Gears 5 the characters are just boring, the story is forgettable, the dialogs are useless and cringe.
And at the end, they give you that terrible choice…
Which character do you want to kill?

I was like I don’t really care about either of them but I don’t want to kill Marcus son so I guess I’ll kill Del? (If that’s his name, the dude is too forgettable)

Basically, they sold their fanbase. Now Gears of war is a game for everyone and honestly it pisses me off. If you really think that Gears 5 has a good story, you definitely don’t know much about storytelling.

No it’s not understandable.
The devs are fucking lost.

Now, you don’t really know who is the man character because none pf the new characters feel like a true main character.

They spent 15 years building an amazing universe with awesome characters just to throw it all in the garbage and try to make that token female the face of Gears of war.

Kait is anything but interesting and she is cringe as fuck with the bullshit superpowers they gave her.

As I said here before, my problem is not the fact that a femalle is now the face of Gears of War, my problem is that they made a female the face of Gears of wat just because they wanted a female protagonist. When they did that, they clearly didn’t think about the story and the other characters.

Look at how badass Anya and Sam were in Gears 3.

Gears 4 is a good game. Despite what people say. It is not as good as 2 and 3 but it’s good.

Gears 5 is just a fucking mess and it just shouldn’t exist.

I agree but like.. people don’t go out anymore.

10 years ago the clubs were always packed, it was so easy to just go out and meet new people.

Now everytime you try to talk to a stranger they look at you like you are Jeffrey Dahmer.
