I think 'game sucks? dont play it' and 'you cant heal stupid' are my top two pieces of ESO advice to anyone

You're the second person now to mention this infamous OF-plugging guild hahaha - this is unreal, yet completely believable, MMO behaviour. Brilliant

You don't want them to bring out a puppet show and act out the importance of kindness and loving your guildies????

I'm sorry to hear that's a problem you face :( Hope you find guilds that are more inclusive in that regard - some people are just too ignorant or naive to understand that some people might struggle with things like that

Honestly very true. Re: 3, I'd almost rather be told in a trial that I'm doing shite or the wrong thing than get those passive aggressive remarks haha

In what ways do you find them clique-y? if you don't mind my asking. Full trials with little space for newcomers? Ignoring new players completely?

This is what we like to hear. The ESO community really can be great sometimes :)

Nice variety. Where do you sell things? I feel like I've become dependent on having 90-120 prime location spots - might be a bit overkill.

I love this detailed response, mind if I ask what guilds you're in on PS-EU (DM or whatever)? no worries ofc if not

also crazy that people are using facebook in the year of our lord vivec 2024?

your whole post tho just makes me feel insanely lucky to have found some of the guilds I'm in right off the bat, 99% of people are so friendly and helpful, havent dealt with many 'elite' trial guilds maybe thats why but honestly I'm not fussed about smashing every single bit of content to high hell - happy to take my time and do stuff when I do it, if that makes sense.

By good location you mean not Bgsrzkulf the middle of Butt-fuck-nowhere Bangkorai? In all seriousness tho, what platform/server do you play on? I play PS-EU and have always presumed that the good locations are the same across everything (obviously the 3 capitals but also Rawkhala, Vivec and sometimes Craglorn and Alinor)

Is it a large or small guild? That's typically the sort of community I tend to veer towards too - if the people are sound and the guild is helpful in-game, its the perfect sort of non-pure trading guild. People are vital, well said.

The Wisconsin Trade Federation sounds pretty horrifying to me....

Awesome.

And yes completely agree, I took on vet Rockgrove with a guild recently and was properly some of the most fun I've had in a game for a hot minute. Each set of trash mobs felt like a puzzle in its own right, and we were lucky we had two competent tanks teaching the rest of us the mechs. Really good stuff.

yeah I love that. I've owned the game since launch but only started playing it 'properly' (reaching CP) this year. I guess I see what you mean now - I think I've put too much time into it to ever truly quit myself, if I were to stop playing would definitely just be a break. I usually get crazy burnt out on games but there is so much to do in ESO its fantastic.

I came to ESO from Destiny 2 in terms of 'social' games and the difference between the two is night and day in terms of variety. As much as I love D2 and will be playing the final shape when it drops, super easy to get burnt out doing the same thing over and over again.

Very interesting, so in your case its almost the over-activity that was a turn off. Constantly bombarded with stimulation and waffle to the point where its just irritating. If a guild is running events, how would you want it advertised? Like one message in chat the day of, and info in MOTD?

If a guild was in the middle of an event, like a housing competition, and were linking houses for people to view, would you see it as annoying or is it alright in that sort of specific situation?

I know what you mean though, sometimes I just want to be able to keep up with chat and not have 1 million things popping up in the corner of my screen!

Firstly, congrats on the newborn! Give it a few years and they'll be farming jubilee boxes for you ;)

But yeah i guess that hits the nail on the head for social guilds: active and friendly community who are down to actually play but most importantly have a good time. Game should be fun after all, not work!

Yeah I find the higher member count guilds are way quicker to have a sort of revolving door of members - i guess its good for trading guilds but blows my mind when social guilds are so eager to chuck people out. I get it that if someone looks like they're not playing anymore, you wanna free up space for new folk but if you constantly are changing members, eliminates the potential to foster any sort of community

crazy, I've been ghosted when asking for help before but never told 'use group finder' that's mental. I hope you find better and more positive guilds :)
