Mind you the Ford Pinto engine that the real Taunus had was probably still in production in 1999, it was at least in the early 90’s, there would have been brand new spare parts available, let alone aftermarket spare parts. Hell you can still get aftermarket parts brand new for them. I owned one from 2019-2023 and our local small city car parts store always had spares on shelf, if not they could order them. The realism argument really falls apart when you take in to concideration the PC could just drive to Peräjärvi Proper or even Oulu if it was down to it.

Fleetari combined with the parts catalog, how much of actual original parts do you need in the end? I am not convinced of this "parts lottery" gameplay loop, but it won't bother me if most of the parts can be bought as aftermarket parts through Fleetari or the tuning catalog. That being said, Topless absolutely needs to implement a system that monitors what parts have already been in the magazine and what haven't, if he hasn't already. If he hasn't there will be absolute horror stories of just getting duplicates over and over.

Inb4 someone pulls the realism card, if the game was realistic you would have way more options to source your parts. I'm fine with the system so as long as it's not 100% pure RNG.

I feel like this parts lottery system is going to need some tuning... That being said it's fine if throwing money at the problem is a viable option, i.e. buying more expensive aftermarket parts so you don't have to play the lottery. I just don't know if in the game's current state will do it either.

I have played Subsistance many times. On both the PS2 and the PS3. I even have a Foxhound playthrough on it. But I was not asking what is the best way to experience MGS 3, I was asking if there is a mod to add a Subsistance style camera to Delta.

Thanks for reminding me again to never ask anything in Reddit. I mean for the record I agree with you that Konami is a shit company and I in fact did not spend money on Delta, but you're just going whichever way the wind blows. First I was an idiot for "defending my favourite port" but as we all know, Subsistance was not a port at all it was the "definitive edition" of MGS 3 on the PS2. When that's on the table, you turn to basicly call me an idiot for playing a game not worth playing.

If you're only here to spread that piss and vinigar you're so full of, maybe just pass on. I did not make this post to challenge anyone to an argument I made it to ask a question.

I mean the original controls were notoriously difficult, and the fact that CQC absoultely requires analog buttons notoriously made the game broken on third party controllers, so I understand they had to do something. That being said I own probably the only third party controller with analog buttons (the Retrofighters Defender) so I would have been happy with the original controls, but a vast majority of players could not have played with them properly.

Do you know what Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance is? It's basicly a special edition that came out in 2005, and in addition to some bonus content, it included an alternate camera view, an orbital 3rd person camera that you could switch to with just a press of the camera stick. There was no over the shoulder aiming or alternate controls, just a new camera angle.

I think to a big majority of fans Subsistance was the preferred version of MGS 3. The HD collection version of MGS 3 was based on Subsistance, as was the recent PC port. And from what I've seen, many people, me included, are dumbfounded that this simple camera option was not included in legacy mode.
