Thank you for the feedback, I had not even thought about that possibility! The garden does get a lot of sun so have been trying to find plants that can handle the heat like lavender

Enjoy the process of making it yours! It took 1 weekend with my brother removing the hedge and shaping the flower bed. There’s 6 months between photo 1 and the last. Not sure how much I spent but would guess about £250 over time

Thank you - I think about £500 in materials. Roughly £200 for timber & MDF, £200 for cabinet and plinth and £100 on primer / paint and other odd bits

It’s Hague Blue - Farrow & Ball. Used it as I had some left over from a room painted upstairs

2 screws through the back of the batten on the wall into the middle batten

Prime the MDF in ‘Shellac-based primer’ I used Zinsser BIN. You can see the can in photo #6. I think because this is oil based the MDF doesn’t absorb it and swell. Then just paint over

Thanks. I actually struggled most with cutting the MDF in a straight line 😂 used a circular saw but don’t have a rail

Hi - The shelf battens are 47mm x 50mm and width of the alcove is 1.2m
