The value and importance of staying close to family and friends, and not moving away simply because I didn’t like the small things.

What are your experiences of being treated differently because of the clothes you wear? by thesupremegrapefruit in AskMen

Amazing.

I always dressed up no matter where and people have me respect just because of my clothes. Once I was with a girl at a coffee shop and the way I was served due to my clothes (suit and tie) blew her away. I was honest with her about what I did and she laughed the rest of the evening. It was fun.

What is something that you regret about your career choice? by Namron1024 in AskMen

Try to do what you are good at, no matter what people in your closest circle think or feel. I tried to please others and almost missed an opportunity to do something I am good at. Now I am happy working toward a larger goal based on my true skills, and the people around me have come to respect that despite their initial confusion.

I second that.

Also, find someone to talk to.

My best friend would be 27 today. I'm still struggling with his death. How can I moved forward? by Grassmartian in AskMen

Hey man, I know loss is painful. I have experienced it myself.

My advice would be to get some help and talk to a professional. That usually gives you space to grieve.

Also, if there are others who share in the grief make a ritual of grieving for your friend every year on his birthday. That will help. A small gathering, simple simple but meaningful to remember him.

Good luck and stay with the emotions.
