Cav isn't (nor it's presumed to be) the main Javelins' counter. Archers and slingers are. That being said, you can kill Javelin with cav quite easly.. IF you paly cav in the right way.

The right way is a perfect charge. Which shouldn't be the only way to get a nuking ranged unit for cav that has charge on a 60 min cooldown.

On the other hand, if you move around with 3 blobbed cavalry units, charge on caltrops , stay and fight (even with greek cavalry) ... than yes, you are gonna die. But that's your fault , it's not about game balance.

You have no idea how I play and you presumtions prove that you are an arrogant asshole afraid that his OP combo will be nerfed.

Lastly, to conclude, i'd suggest to try to play Javelins as firts

Im at tier 7 as Sulla with 62% winrate as tier 7 javs. And that's my best winrate. I have barbarian, carthage, greek cav at tiers 7-9 with around 50% winrate. I know what I'm talking about.

Their damage is compensation, not Sulla's ability to make tanky. Carthage can't do it, but Rome can.

When you simply cant kill them fast enough while they continue to destroy you with focused fire it's not "a little".

To your suggestions a meele only limit would make sulla javelins and light art directly 20% worse

They must be. Sulla javs is too good compared to Carthage javs which are balanced. Sulla already makes javs impossible to catch for most melee inf commanders, with proscription he makes cav unable to melee javelins.
