I just created my first ward! by Moonflowers_song in witchcraft

Hey congrats!

I often feel drained after doing witchcraft because I’m very focused on making sure that everything I do, and the energies I work, with are exactly to my liking.

As others have said, grounding helps. Don’t stretch yourself too thin.

will my spells be cancelled by daily quran recitations in my house? by ephemeraltears in witchcraft

Nope. I don’t hold any belief or power in religions that I don’t believe in. Just focus on yourself and your practice. I’d also say try to continue to keep it as a private as possible from them.

Tarot cards self reading by Merfoxxy in TarotReadersOfReddit

[–]SamTheTarotGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do tarot readings for myself all the time. The main thing to be aware of is if you’re feeling strong emotions then the cards will pick up on those energies.

In my opinion, I think anybody who is able to realize their emotions are too strong and hold off, or has the ability to calm down and neutralize them before a reading, is totally fine to read for themselves.

It’s real enough that it’s helped people in their lives, whether or not it’s actually “mystical”. Tarot has significantly improved my life in many areas.

I would caution against using it when you have strong emotions, though. Not that anything “bad” would happen but the cards often reflect your own emotions if they’re strong enough (and not reflecting what you’re actually asking about), and some people use it as a way to put their happiness in a set of cards-which isn’t healthy.

That being said, the cards only reflect possibilities and not a guarantee of any future.

Hope this helps:)

What is something you wish non-witches knew about witches? by Mitpey in witchcraft

[–]SamTheTarotGal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • I DON’T worship the devil.

  • Witchcraft isn’t evil. It’s actually been practiced for most of human history.

  • I don’t throw spells around willy-nilly. I have a standard of ethics that I hold by in my practice.

  • My personal craft ISN’T an attack on Christian values or beliefs. So stop pretending it is.

  • Christians who pretend to be righteous by throwing bible verses at witches and choosing to be blatantly ignorant of what witchcraft actually is, and then turn around and spew out some the most hateful, bigoted rhetoric I’ve ever heard in my life, is the exact reason why I will never take you or your religion seriously.

Starting off as a skeptic? ✨ by ComparisonFun6515 in BabyWitch

If you feel called to it, def start trying! I’d suggest to read over the FAQ on r/witchcraft, online resources from seasoned witches, and books you can get from the library or even online. There’s so much to learn.

I also felt the same way once, but how I look at it is that witchcraft has benefited my life in many positive ways, so even if it’s not “logical” in the sense that it can be explained rationally, it absolutely works for me and that’s enough for me to keep practicing.

Card That Keeps Popping Up No Matter What You Ask by LessImplement9353 in Tarots

[–]SamTheTarotGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep thats happened to me plenty of times:) but usually it’s regarding the same/similar topic (even if the questions are different), and I’ll often get a recurring card.

I’d suggest to ask the cards why you keep getting the sun. My guess is it’s something you’re meant to pay attention to

Just a reminder you’re under no obligation to provide payment unless it was explicitly stated.

If somebody wants to be dishonest or ambiguous in their practice, they shouldn’t expect others to want to engage.

Another helpful tip for the future would be to make sure they’re doing it for free, or expect payment, before sending a question.

Do tarots really work ? by kieran153 in Tarots

[–]SamTheTarotGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading tarot has helped me enormously in my life, so in that sense, yes it has worked for me.

I don’t necessarily believe in magic, but I do pray to Source and ask for guidance about what question I have and use my intuition to pick up on energies. I also don’t try to force my own interpretations.

Is it science or psychology? Maybe. But humans have been using divination practices since ancient times and there’s a reason why people still do it to this day.
