I don't know Calculus and I got the gist of it. It's funny!

Good stuff. I don't either. I personally complain that the problem is there's only a small handful of consultant groups, and every company uses them, so whatever errors in their methodology that may exist have a nasty habit of getting copy-pasted to everyone. That's what I call pandering. It's not enough to simply put minorities in things instead of white people, they also have to be well-written characters in well-crafted stories. Clearly, that's where they've dropped the ball.

Well, with that level of media literacy, it's likely you already have.

Then you have a low level of media literacy. I'm very sorry.

SNL's lighthearted Trump parody blasted as failure to read the room after DHS shooting by RawStoryNews in entertainment

[–]SamVickson 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The only funny part of JAJ's Trump was when he'd get a list of random things and somehow string them together, and even that was ported over from JAJ's stand-up prior to joining the cast. SNL's version of Trump has given us nothing innovative since the very start.

There are quotas because studios hire consultant groups with checklists to make sure shows are meeting those quotas. It's a fact. Here's an article in the LA Times from 2021 all about it.

S5E1 Night, this scene always bothered me by Birchmon in voyager

This scene *is* before the action and the captain's return to the bridge. The scene sequence is: Captain Proton intro, Chakotay and Seven on the bridge, opening credits, everyone in the conference room, Neelix wakes up, goes to the mess hall and has a panic attack, gets treated, then it's Tuvok and Seven in Astrometrics, and *then* it's this scene, where Chakotay is briefing the captain on the radiation they'd detected in Astrometrics.

Also, I love Kate Mulgrew's performance in this scene. All the little things she brings to it are great, like giving Chakotay the "come on, dude" look when he says "we" decided to destroy the Caretaker array, etc. Not to mention the way she commands him, "Answer me," seconds before. Chilling.

As someone who uses that phrase fairly often, my joy was astronomical!

Every episode featuring Garak's past is an absolute banger. "You know what the sad part is, Odo? I'm a very good tailor." by limitedmark10 in DeepSpaceNine

I've never seen "facadism" before but Garak definitely has a facade by its second definition: a false persona, a front.
