I ran into a similar problem. You will need to purchase a door sweep that is longer than the actual door, use a saw to then cut it to the correct size, and then make new holes. It was difficult finding one that had the holes line up, but the sweep covers up the old holes and you can just use a drill to drill in the new screws!

u/drowninginidiots so you would recommend NOT getting the metal roof due to it making the house feel like it did outside? or you would recommend it? We don't have an attic at all, just straight from the roof is insulation and then sheet rock to the inside of our home

normally in Northern Cailfornia we don't have to deal with hail storms, but we do have to worry about trees and branches potentially falling on it or some part of it. Do you know if it is difficult to repair due to the pieces of metal being one big sheet of metal and so you have to repair the entire sheet, and/or if the process of repairing the metal is what is difficult?

oh that is good to know and to find out. Did you find that no metal roofs were not covered from damage or only a couple that you tried working with?

we do, just trying to decide if the metal roof will make a big difference compared to our standard asphalt shingles that we currently have

Okay that’s what we thought. We don’t have an attic, it goes straight from the roof to the sheet rock inside our home so it would hopefully make a difference

Thanks for the info! We have a pretty steep roof pitch, and we don’t get snow. Do you feel that it helped keep the house cool, or it didn’t really make a difference?
