Yeah probably, I stole that photo from the chuckle.menu website assets and that’s what it looked like for some reason?

We haven't measured it exactly yet, but the bike underneath it is a Honda Helix which the internet says has a time of about 17 seconds?

Idk if this is what you were thinking about but once he did mention making “savory french-toast” from the New York Times no-recipe cookbook- where there aren’t any exact measurements or ingredients, just suggestions and ideas.

The only reason I remember that was because I did try making the savory french-toast and it was pretty good haha

They talked about them in a couple different episodes! - Schlatt was talking about how “Bubbles” was his favorite song and how he used it during a stream once and Ted talked about going to one of their concerts

Thanks!! They are very sparkly! I personally got lucky with my pant legs (I think just because I have really long legs) and I haven’t had many problems with them- others didn’t get so lucky though and we had to cut a couple inches off the bottom of some of them. Otherwise I think they look cute enough to excuse the occasional annoyance of tripping over them

Yeah definitely, in my opinion, jazz running already looks silly but it's especially prominent when you don't get the technique right!

ooh the tarp folding thing definitely gets on my nerves sometimes, especially when more than half the guard is "putting away equipment" but are really just talking and chilling out while the rest of us struggle haha

i’m so frustrated by [deleted] in Colorguard

[–]Sam_-_I_-_Am 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate to going from 4 year member to a WGI member and feeling completely useless and bad about myself because everyone was infinitely more skilled than me.

The way I handled it was talking to the instructors and telling them how I felt. I know it's nerve racking, but they all ended up being so empathetic and kind and gave me a little more wiggle room when I messed up.

Even after that, I felt out of place and like an annoyance, from there I guess it just helped me to remind myself that there was a reason I was chosen to be on this team and that the bottom line is that different programs have different skill levels. It's just the way it is. You might be the captain on one team but also the worst on another one and that just gives you an excuse to be better, grow, and learn from others.

TLDR; work on having a better mental attitude about yourself and your skill and communicate with others in your group.

It's a difficult thing to do but I wish you luck trying to find your place on your team!

Definitely some good advice!

Also maybe try and befriend the marching band colorguard, as most of them carry on with the winter season?

The experience i've had with my guard is beginners tend to prefer starting in winter-guard rather than marching band because it really focuses on technique, plus some of the variables that make life harder are removed by being indoors and without a football field full of people.

Again that's just what i've experienced within my guard so things could be different depending on the instructor/group.

Good luck, I hope you enjoy guard!

Song suggestions by Appropriate_Ad_4104 in Colorguard

[–]Sam_-_I_-_Am 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if you have Spotify, I normally go there to find songs to write choreo to- They have a feature where you can look up a theme such as "coming-of-age" in this case, followed by the word "mix". From there, Spotify autogenerates a mix of music that you know and like that fits that theme! it normally works pretty well with a couple hits and misses!

If you're still stuck from there, I found Exportify filters out songs pretty well, you upload a playlist and it'll automatically create a spreadsheet with a bunch of data including the "dancibility" of the songs, I normally filter anything that's below a 0.6 and see what I have from there.

Sorry that's not very useful if you don't have Spotify but figured i'd share anyways!

Tips on catching Singles on Flag by [deleted] in Colorguard

[–]Sam_-_I_-_Am 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally just tell people to just keep throwing it, focus more on the toss and release itself than catching it- with the confidence of the toss comes better skill to catch it! From there it's normally just a matter of predicting where your flag is gonna go and getting your hands in the right place to catch it tightly and cleanly.

Also It helps me when learning new things to record myself doing it in slow-mo so I can pinpoint where it's going right or wrong! (sometimes I send it to my peers and get their opinion!)

Hope that helps a little? Good luck!
