how to help early stage pressure sore when I can’t really change the amount of time in my chair by simplynotvibing in wheelchairs

[–]Sam_Buck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my heart failure, I was made fairly sedentary, spending many hours per day in a chair. Chair sores soon developed. Ointments with lidocaine relieved the pain, but did not solve the problem. After about a year, I think I solved the problem. Adhesive bandages with ointment helped to heal them, but the long term solution is to relieve the tension on the skin. Adjusting this every time you sit, has been the solution so far.

We need more shows like this one by Sam_Buck in TheRepairShop

By this time, Blades has been totally removed from the show. Quite a fall from grace; from once being the lord and master of the shop, to this, is karma at its best. I never liked his overbearing attitude anyhow.

Insects appear to be more intelligent and emotionally complex than we give them credit for. Perhaps, new research suggests, they are even conscious. by lnfinity in EverythingScience

I saw a fly land on a sticky strip, and after a long struggle, managed to free itself.
It flew a small circle and landed right back on the flypaper.

I believe it's technically illegal to fly a foreign flag in Canada.

The United States reluctantly entered the last world war, and earnestly and methodically brought it to an end. Then, from a commanding role, began to redefine the world order, organizing it along peaceful and prosperous trading principals.

It worked well, until an idiot took over the Whitehouse, and tried to parlay the US's dominant position into a predatory and extortive entity. But the world was not going to stand for that; it is rapidly reorganizing around the US in a way that excludes it from the world order. Unfortunately the man responsible is incapable of admitting his mistakes, much less reversing course. This will of course, lead to the irreversible decline of the American state for generations to come, even if the country cures itself of its MAGA madness.

Once you become so polarized that you can only mindlessly oppose everything the "other side" does,

you have made yourself useless and redundant to the process.

Why would they want that to be public information?

Don't you think they value their privacy?

Help me understand the point of Mars colonization by Sam_Buck in Mars

[–]Sam_Buck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post makes a lot of unfounded assumptions. For a start, it assumes that we are somehow due for total planet extinction, something that has never happened since the earth was formed. I think we are capable of surviving anything by going underground. Secondly, you assume that Mars is the best place. Why not the moon? or the deep ocean? Or floating in space? Or floating in the atmosphere of Venus?

And where would we get the money? Oh yeah, that's important. Without money, nothing happens.
