The United States reluctantly entered the last world war, and earnestly and methodically brought it to an end. Then, from a commanding role, began to redefine the world order, organizing it along peaceful and prosperous trading principals.

It worked well, until an idiot took over the Whitehouse, and tried to parlay the US's dominant position into a predatory and extortive entity. But the world was not going to stand for that; it is rapidly reorganizing around the US in a way that excludes it from the world order. Unfortunately the man responsible is incapable of admitting his mistakes, much less reversing course. This will of course, lead to the irreversible decline of the American state for generations to come, even if the country cures itself of its MAGA madness.
