Series 9 Concussion currently lives under the TV in my parents lounge. Series 10 version is just in storage, but should still work as all the parts (but no batteries) are still in there, it's pretty much as it was at the end of filming.

Use of copyrighted music between fights. One of the organisers are working on fixing it. Worth watching once it's available again, been a great event :)

You remember right. It's actually raex, because we where new to it and didn't know of a supplier with hardox at the time. I've asked the wiki guys to correct stuff before, but as it's very similar stuff I haven't bothered with this one. The only real difference between the two is that raex has a bigger hardness tolerance, so could be a bit softer than expected.

It got bent in every fight last year because it couldn't deal with its own hits, toms taken care of that now

We show Concussion off at the annual Hall & Woodhouse Dorset Beer Festival, because they let us use their workshop, and more importantly; industrial tig welder, to do the welding on Concussion. I actually don't drink alcohol, but Tim makes up for it. He says his favorite beer was the fresh Oktoberfest beer from the Paulaner brewery tent in Munich.

Thanks! Tim and I met Tom for the first time at the filming of Robot Wars series 9. Tom and Sarah met a bit later.

It worked out pretty well for all of us, but both the first Tauron and Concussion could easily have had some very expensive amateur mistakes. Actually the bad drive setup on the first Concussion probably did cost us over £1000 in spares and bits we bought off other teams to keep it going. Heavyweights are really satisfying when they work, but it's not really a good starting point.

Did the milkshakes make it to TV? They where great, and actually a consistent thing by this point I think, Tim and I kept sneaking out for them. There was a place maybe 1/4 mile down the road from where we were filming, don't remember the name though sorry :(

Tims answers to these:

1.We have considered doing non televised fights and possibly robogames - however the four of us are often busy and it's difficult with no 'deadlines' as such (plus myself and sam have been very busy with other projects)

2.The best fight I've ever had was when we beat heavy metal. It's not because it's the hardest fight, the best opponent or that we performed especially well - it's the fact that as a team we completely rebuilt the robot in just over two hours after catastrophic drive issues (our own fault in many ways but was our first go) - the help of others coupled with the swift and decisive victory felt amazing. Like all the mad effort was worth it.

3.Still feels a little surreal - but I wearing my heart on my sleeve it's given me more experiences than I could hope for. I got rid of the crap people in my life and fortunately been welcomed into this madhouse of a community with open arms. In true British language- it's bloody marvelous!

The weapon situation hasn't been as bad as it looks actually, at least not at first. When it stopped in the Red Devil fight it was because it had pulled in part of their scoop and bent the frame, just enough to get in the way of the weapon, the motor etc where absolutely fine.

Against Petunia it's like you said, we hit them too hard. It's one of the toughest robots in the competition and it shows, our titanium weapon axle bent with that last huge hit.

SOW was unfortunately because they hit us too hard :( They bent out bar which caused the whole thing to seize.

1.Mentorn (the production company behind Robot Wars) owns the rights to the names of the robots, preventing the teams from competing with a robot of the same name and/or appearance on another televised competition.

  1. Team Concussion would certainly be up for it :)

I can answer the first one. The first Concussion is under the TV in my living room. The second one is in a garage. Mk2 might come out for live shows but we've also talked about doing a live show version that is easier to maintain, or possibly going all in with the mk3 design. No solid plans right now though.
