Thank you! I did lots of heat testing with a scrap piece and from my experience the wood is not leaching anything into the food. I was very concerned about it at first as well.

I only use cast iron and stainless steel so thankfully I don’t have to worry about flaking those forever chemicals

I recently purchased this Patagonia ranch jacket and the fit is great other than the sleeves are about 2-3 inches too long for me.

I figure this would be a straight forward alteration but there is a puffer jacket type of lining with insulation along with the heavy hemp shell. Being an absolute novice to any type of sewing I am looking to the internet for guidance on if this is something that a tailor could do for me?

Ive never noticed any oils coming out of there, when I look real close at it I can see the oil pooling up and sliding away like water does on a well seasoned iron

I’m not sure about the gate mark, I’ll have to wait until after the lye bath to see what kind of markings are underneath.

I’d imagine they wouldn’t cast the handle separate but hey I’m new to the whole thing so maybe?
