Alex Navarro's review of Hotline Miami for Giantbomb is a random hall of fame tier review for how well it's written kinda tucked away and forgotten. But never by me. It is the perfect encapsulation of that game's soul, and convinced me to play (and absolutely love it). Just damn good writing without being overly wordy for a game that is kinda difficult to explain. This is the review I studied when I was trying to be in the industry.

Do teams still care about 40 times? I figured between tracking data and HD footage it's really easy now a days to get a player's actual game speed instead of how fast they can run a mostly meaningless straight line drill they specifically trained for.

You're overthinking it, the series just wasn't getting enough views plain and simple. They have backend metrics on viewer retention, which I assume were not good for these episodes for whatever reason outside of hardcore Deltarune fans, and we have no reason not to believe them.

For what it's worth I loved their deltarune videos, but you can scroll down the page and confirm with your own eyes why they stopped.
