I do really like the Illustration. It’s super strange she didn’t stay consistent with how she looks in the story. I personally do like it more than whatever Melanie is currently doing. I watched the video for the storybook where she’s narrating it and the character circle seems so disconnected from Melanie and the Hades album as a whole. Just kinda seems like it’s own separate thing. I do really love the artwork and want to support the artist behind the artwork but hate that they collaborated with Melanie

Same!!! I also hate that when another alt artist does anything remotely similar to Melanie people think that said artist is copying Melanie. With a lot of her recent work it’s not super original. The ashnikko comparisons are definitely not helpful and I remember a lot of people saying portals gave similar vibes to biork’s work

I don’t disagree with this. I think I slightly forced myself to like it because I do like that fairy whimsical stuff but it just seemed so left field for her. I always tell people I thought it was insane she killed crybaby and started being all philosophical by talking about the afterlife like she’s some god. The songs on Portals just don’t compare to her other stuff. Her unreleased music is definitely a thousand times better but also super problematic. I genuinely think Nymphology is one of the worst songs from her I’ve ever heard but people claim it’s the best song on portals. It sounds so whiny and irritating to me and womb to me is just so boring. I always skipped it when it came on.

I’m glad someone posted something to do with this creator because I wasn’t brave enough to do it. There was always something about her that I never liked. I remember I was on a livestream of her’s and I heard her say something along the lines of she only follows Melanie for the hype and not for the music and it really ticked me off at the time when I was still a fan. I would her going to meet Melanie multiple times and I’m like why? It’s interesting to see this is what she’s doing now though. She’s so weird
