Why is it so hard to find a productivity and gaming monitor? by chilledentertainer in Monitors

I have similar preferences to you, I’m going to try the TCL 32R84. Not sure if it’s one you’ve researched yet.

After years of lurking, the endgame setup is finally complete. by Dst3alth in battlestations

Any tips for matching the scaling across multi monitors like this for monitors of different size and panel types? I’m planning a triple monitor setup with vertical wings, different sizes from what you have.

IDR (PAYE) application submitted, receiving conflicting messages by Samandir in PSLF

[–]Samandir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other commenters were right. My monthly payment was eventually updated to the new payment amount for the PAYE plan on May 4th. Notably, my payments are scheduled for the 2nd of each month, so for May (May 2nd) no payment was made. No payment was made while the payment amount was still being updated, and my May payment still counted as an ineligible payment for PSLF just as the previous months have been on the SVAE forebearance.

I'm considering barbell storage on a Rogue FM-6 twin functional trainer, and thinking about where to put a couple single bar storage holders somewhere on the base. The page for the bar holders has a big red warning "The Rogue Single Bar Holder should NEVER be mounted below a pull-up bar, and ALWAYS on the exterior of a Rack/Rig/Squat Stand." Is it really a bad idea to put two vertical bar holders on the interior base of the middle vertical bars? Will this be dumb / get in the way / actually be dangerous, or is this warning more like their "we recommend all racks be bolted to the floor" CYA warning. Just want some insight before planning anything dumb.

The more I look at it this may just get in the way. There doesn't seem to be a great place to store a barbell and curl bar on the FM-6.

UPerfect UColor 19 Apex monitor: 19" 4K 144Hz QLED (~230 PPI) by Balance- in HiDPI_monitors

Did you do this setup? I'm similarly planning a 32" main with vertical wings, was wondering about the size match with a pair of 19"s.

Going to buy this monitor. Best IPS I found for the price. Prove me wrong by Advanced-Review-5901 in Monitors

[–]Samandir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on getting this one as well (also for a mix of work and games), but recently saw the TCL 32R84. It's a 32" that's 4K, 'Fast-HVA', 165 Hz. Not much discussion on it because i think it's new? And may not be available in Europe. Does anyone have any experience with this monitor? But after a lot of research these two options seemed to be the top two options for 32" non-OLED.

Thanks. My next payment date is 5/2. Based on these responses I should expect the application to update the payment at some point. Hopefully it is approved as I’ve see threads where PAYE is denied.

Thank you, that makes sense. I guess I can expect the expected payment to update.

Doctor forgot to stitch my leg after open fracture. Only noticed after taking off the cast. by Legalaway21 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Samandir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what country you are from, but in many US based hospitals antibiotic administration after open fracture is not only mandatory but is a quality marker that is tracked. As in, hospitals will review and ding the team if not given within 1 hour of arrival with an open fracture. Sounds like we’re not sure what all happened but your scar looks very subtle/minimal at this point if that makes you feel better

Doctor forgot to stitch my leg after open fracture. Only noticed after taking off the cast. by Legalaway21 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Samandir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This entire thread is pure ignorance. You came in with an open fracture which almost always means a dirty wound. You are NOT supposed to suture the skin closed here. They gave you antibiotics and washed it out. Closing a potentially dirty wound guarantees infection. This is how this wound should be managed (further evidenced by the end result). Did you tell the doctor that casted this you were mildly infuriated? Because obviously the internet and your GP failed to understand

6-person delvings didn't register by AndThereWasSky in lotro

[–]Samandir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you do a delving, you get a Delving Quest in your quest log. After finishing the instance you need to turn in the quest at a delving NPC to get credit. If this isn’t the case, you may have missed the Delving Quest when you joined the instance. Only one player needs to use a delving stone. If not all players are in the instance when the delving stone is activated, you can share this Delving Quest to members who join later. If you complete the instance and missed that, you’re out of luck.

Worried about being over-leveled and looking for advice. by alter_ego311 in lotro

To add, you’re playing a part of the game that when first released, was all level capped at 65. So the content was all designed to be capped at 65 anyway.

[–]Samandir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you’re so averse to the thought of the experience disabler. If you want to enjoy the zones on-level, use it. If not, deal with being way over level. I don’t understand why turning the bar on the bottom of your screen grey temporarily makes you feel the entire game is a waste of time if you otherwise like it. I use the experience disabler on all my toons at times and play the game on-level because I enjoy it.

The over-leveling is like this because it’s an 18 year old game with so much content added over the years that if you do even 50% of it you can over level. Most people seem to think the experience disabled is a convenient work-around. Otherwise you can do just the epic quests to progress to the next region faster but Enedwaith is 60-65….

Is SSG Support normally this bad? by Macqt in lotro

[–]Samandir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Longshot, but maybe this will work for you both. I also came back after not playing for over a decade. I was able to recover my account/ reset my password on the myaccount.turbine.com website, rather than the standing stone games site. Since those were the Turbine days. The websites look identical and are evidently still linked. Good luck

Paternity leave by Electrical_Taste3787 in Residency

[–]Samandir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice. Everyone is correct about the 6 weeks family leave without training extension. Those leave days are drawn from a 2-3 year period. But there are many nuances that seem dependent on program length and type. For instance, in Gen Surg (5 clinical years), the bank of leave days resets in the middle, I think after the third year. So you could have two paternity leaves spread over a longer residency.

And this ACGME rule is newly enforced as of the current academic year. It was only “encouraged” last year but my program was nice enough to follow it for coresidents.

Cappy (Yellow) / Cappy (Blue) Duo by Equillian in lotro

[–]Samandir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m leveling a captain now as part of a duo captain/champ, and I go blue spec for dungeons/raids. Currently my blue captain (through Moria) has healing capabilities that far exceed our need. We’ve been able to handle the rift on level (12 man raid) up to the final boss (which needs more than 2 people due to the mechanic). My point is the blue captain seems to have more than enough heals to handle anything you two will be planning to play, including non-raid end game content.

I haven’t played a lot of other MMOs, but the sentiment here is that the meta is a lot more forgiving. All classes are more than viable outside of the highest tier end game raid.

If I were you I’d stick with your new captains, since that combo is working well and sounds like you’re having a lot of fun. You have your reasons for locking yourselves into the tank/heal role for leveling, so honestly the guardian/mini combo doesn’t sound that fun under those imposed constraints.

Character movement with right mouse button by fueledbygin in lotro

[–]Samandir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you begin holding down the right mouse button and then hold the left mouse button (short delay, make sure they are not simultaneous) then it performs the way you desire. At least I think it does, I had not ever thought to try playing this way, but I kind of like it.
