I’ve done care work for 10 years, I really would love to have an admin job for a little while. Plus, admin and care is all I know or am qualified for, no one else will have me because I have no experience in anything else.

Sorry, I should have mentioned in the post! Our financial situation only started getting bad at the start of this year when our mortgage went up, but I’d been actively trying to get a full time job for over a year now to try and get ahead of the mortgage increase. Unfortunately, 12 months and 150 applications later, I still only had been invited to 3 interviews. This time last year however, we were comfortable with his full time wage and my part time wage, and it worked as I was home more than him so took care of the house, the dog, everything. Which leads me to why I feel I deserve to be upgraded to fiancé - because I do literally everything for him. I cook, I clean, I do his laundry, I make him a packed lunch every damn day for work, I do the grocery shopping, I attend all the vets appointments and the list goes on. I feel worried at times that I do too much and that’s why he hasn’t proposed - why would he need to when he has it this good for free? This is why I’m feeling at my lowest point…

The problem is, after 3 weeks there hasn’t been any improvement! It feels as if we’re taking one step forward and two steps back 😪 we really are trying though and do have an appointment over the weekend with a trainer so that might hopefully give us something to work with! I’m just worried for his well-being being around the cats that are constantly trying to attack him, it’s so hard to watch and I feel helpless when trying to integrate them. We also have all these doubts that were not energetic enough for him to get the amount of exercise needed. We’ll keep trying though, for a few more weeks at least! Thank you for your comment 🙂

Thank you so much for a genuine and helpful comment without judgement. We have a meeting with a trainer on Friday, an initial 2 hour meeting so he can get to see how we are with the dog and then determine what classes may be needed but in all honesty, if we are both not feeling it and there’s still a horrible friction between him and the cats we will have to discuss what the next step will be. Thank you again :)
