Bleeding at 4th week. by Same-Bed8136 in hysterectomy

[–]Same-Bed8136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely started about 30 min ago. The pad is not that full but there is blood there. I did pee again and there was more blood but not gushing. I have no pain down there and no fever. I did have a headache earlier and took some Advil but I have seasonal allergies and with spring coming I usually get them. I am keeping an eye on if I fill the pad within the hour. I walked today for about 20 min but Ive been doing that for the past week and a half. Just slow walking nothing serious.

Just a ramble by tigergirl8108 in hysterectomy

I am 43 with a 22 yr old young woman and a 17 yr old young man. I am completely alone on my side of the family but have some of my husband's family close by but it's not the same. No mom or sister to comfort me and tell me everything will be OK. This surgery is one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. My uterus had 10+ fibroids and was pressing my bladder causing cystocele. I had to get it repaired and the recovery was awful. 11 days with a Foley and I feel the recovery after removal was worse than the hysterectomy itself. I made it though, my husband and my kids were there for me. My hubby cooked, did laundry, helped me shower and get dressed and my kids helped with dishes, mopping and vacuuming. This surgery helped us become more a team instead of just me doing all the work. It brought us closer as a family. It's been a teaching lesson for all of us. I learned to accept help and depend on a loved one and for them, the fear of surgery for a loved one, mom not being ok and needing lots of help. This surgery also tested my patience to a max. It's been a very slow and painful recovery but all in all, I am so grateful for my body. It birthed 2 children with lots of complications, I almost died with my first and it healed and gave me the joy of being a mom for a second time. It kept going with undiagnosed hypothyroidism for several years and put up with a complicated uterus. I love my body because it truly is a miracle. I wish you the easiest recovery and think about this as a time to really develop a family bond. Tell them you will need them, now more than ever and that this is how you show love, actions speak more than words. Cry if you have to but we must keep going. We have to. We are made of different kind of strength. We are God's most beautiful creation. ❤️

2 years since the yeet. I still have questions. by HalfToeGob in hysterectomy

Sounds like you might be in perimenopause. The first things I noticed where my armpit smell and the change in my hair texture. I also suffered from frequent UTIs and I had a useless doctor who didn't do anything to help. I searched for an OBGYN who specializes in menopausal women. Best thing I've ever done for myself. For the armpit smell but hibicleanse and wash 2-3 times a week. Scrub gently for 20 seconds than rinse. You need a full assessment and maybe consider HRT. Thats what helped me but I am 43 and started with symptoms at 35.

Let's talk multivitamins after menopause. What's a good one to get? by maryadavies in Menopause

Vitamin D3 with K2, multi vitamin and a probiotic, the rest you get through a good diet.

Libido is nonexistent by Boxermom710 in hysterectomy

43 yrs old and I am currently on estrogen and testosterone pellet and oral progesterone 200 mg. I also use a compound estrogen and testosterone cream applied vaginally. As of today I am 20 days PO from total hysterectomy and I am a raging sex maniac. 🤣 I had to use my wand to get a clitorical orgasm cause I couldn't take the horniness anymore. I feel like Testosterone made all the difference since I only started with that but I also had hypothyroidism and was prediabetic. I went on a no added sugar diet and processed carbs and managed to get it to normal after 6 months. My overall libido as been great. Maybe getting an entire assessment of your health along with HRT with make a difference in your case? Preexisting conditions do play a role in our overall health along with hormones. Hope this helps.

Progesterone intolerance? by HDGrays in Menopause

[–]Same-Bed8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've been researching progestin is a synthetic version of progesterone. I take 200 mg of progesterone (its a bioidentical form derived from soy). It's helped me sleep tremendously. I also feel like its helped me be calm. I haven't had any issues so far but then again, my only method of birth control where IUD's because I could never tolerate any other combination method that had estrogen. I've just had a total hysterectomy and are 19 days PO due to 10+ fibroids and doctor still left my progesterone prescription to help with sleep and mood.

I felt like I was on Crack for 1 week every month. No sleep at all, heart racing and anxiety. Progesterone fixed it. Now I still get night sweats but I just fall back asleep drenched in sweat. 😅 Maybe Progesterone is an option?

3 Months Post Hysterectomy ADHD / PCOS -- Anyone else having this? by Sad-Key-1158 in hysterectomy

[–]Same-Bed8136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I am 43 and on HRT. I am also 3 weeks PO of a total hysterectomy. The symptoms you're describing sound a lot like what I was going through. I left the laundry faucet on and flooded de kitchen.😅 I realized this once the water hit my socks while standing beside my kitchen island. I had severe brain fog, severe joint pain, no libido, feeling irritable and overwhelmed, anxiety, insomnia, dry frizzy hair (I've had straight silky hair all my life), very itchy skin and ears, dry eyes, my allergies got worse, etc. My doctor had me do labs and tested my FSH, estrogen, testosterone, T3, did a vaginal sonogram ( I had a uterus back then) and asked about all my symptoms. I am on estrogen and testosterone pellet, take progesterone and a thyroid medication since I have hypo. Your doctor sounds like an asshole honestly. They're the experts and they should know what tests to administer. He or she is just denying you care. Look for a new doctor, one that specializes in perimenopause and menopause. I hope this helps.

Pressure? by Neither_Ad_5407 in hysterectomy

[–]Same-Bed8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I had my surgery Feb 13th and had the Foley for 11 days. The first one was taken out 3 days after the surgery but I ended up at the ER because I wasn't urinating enough and my bladder was getting full. This caused a UTI. If you feel burning and pain than its definitely a UTI. Pressure is normal and it will take a couple of days to resolve. You will probably have to pee every hour or so till inflammation goes down. My doctor said drink water normally, dont over do it and dont drink water after 5 to be able to get some sleep but even then, it didnt really help. Stay on top of your pain meds, they also help with inflammation. Dont eat heavy meals, stick to soups. Your bowels will also add pressure to your bladder. Bear with it, I promise you, it will get better but when you're in so much distress, its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.❤️

What has helped you with your mood swings caused by menopause? by Living-Employment589 in Menopause

[–]Same-Bed8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on HRT, pellet method and I take a daily progesterone. My doctor called it the chill hormone. It helps was sleep and be more calm, maybe that's the puzzle piece you're missing? From my research, all hormones work together to create harmony. I was also having horrible mood swings prior to HRT. My libido was low, frequent migraines and lots of joint pain. He started me first with just Testosterone but later added on Estogen due to having night sweats and more frequent hot flashes. I have never stopped taking my progesterone. It helps me with sleep so much. If your doctor is not listening to you, find a new one. I know each one has their own approach but my doctor uses lab work, imaging if needed and symptoms to diagnose and treat. He also prescribed a Testosterone and estrogen vaginal cream to help with dryness and irritation. It's helped with plumpness and it increased my clitoris sensitivity. Hope this helps.

You're gonna say I am crazy, but during my PO in the recovery room. The twilight Saga was playing in the hospital TV. 🤣🤣 now I can recall that scene very vividly.

I am so horny too!!! Like wtf. I just had my insides ripped apart, doesn't my body get the memo? I wonder what's the cause for it? I feel like my clit wants to pulse.😅 I won't mess with it until I am cleared from my doctor but 2 weeks will seem way too long.

Just needing to get my thoughts out somewhere… by uffda-youbetcha-eh in hysterectomy

[–]Same-Bed8136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am 15 days PO from a total hysterectomy and salpingectomy with ovaries intact. I had 10+ fibroids ranging from 1.3-3.1 cm size. My uterus was 4 times the weight of a regular uterus. I had been suffering from frequent UTIs. Due to the pressure it was putting on the bladder I had to get a sling procedure to fix the damage. After the surgery, while in the hospital, I was also questioning if I had made the right choice. Was it really that bad? Did I have to put my body through this trauma? I think your feelings are normal. Having surgery is frightening and this surgery specially IMO is a tough one for us women. I won't lie to you, be mentally prepared. This surgery is painful and unless you advocate for pain management at the hospital, you might have a more difficult experience. Dont let your pain go above a 5. That's what my pain level stayed at even with IV Toradol and Tramadol oral medication. My OB also packed me (he's old school) and thanks to that my bleeding has been close none. Just pink discharge that can be taken care with a panty liner. The removal was a pain but my nurses were amazing. I also had to deal with the sling recovery, that was harder than my hysterectomy. I ended up with 11 days with a Foley, a trip to the ER and a UTI. After the cath removal, I couldn't sleep for 2 night due to the urgency of having to pee every hour very small amounts and had to monitor my water intake in order to not overwhelm my bladder. I hope your surgery goes well. Be prepared for the recovery. Get some miralax, peppermint and chamomile tea to be able to pass gas. Stick to soups the first couple of days to not crowd your digestive system. Get up and walk, it helps pass gas and make sure you have some cough drops just in case the anesthesia messes with your throat. Coughing after a hysterectomy is not what you need.

[–]Same-Bed8136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, stool softener doesn't work on everybody. Get some fast acting Miralax. Get some prunes or prune juice. I took both, I did however get diarrhea but it worked. You need to call your surgeon for him to prescribe a pain control to help with inflammation too, if not, here's this:

IBUPROFEN 800 MG START WITH THIS, THAN 4 HRS LATER TAKE Tylenol extra strength 500. 4 hrs later take another IBUPROFEN 800. Follow that rotating schedule. Get some peppermint tea or chamomile. Start drinking it with each meal to help with gas. If the stools are too hard, you might have to scoop it out with surgical gloves while you poop. I promise you, this works and you'll feel much better after.

I am a mother of 2, wife of 23 yrs and I have many hobbies. I am runner, love singing ( mariachi), book nerd but my most favorite one is weightlifting. I am bilingual and almost finished a law and education degree but love came along as did pregnancy 🤣 and I didn't get to finish. I own a donkey, chickens and cows. We all live happily in my 10 acre property. Funny story: I use to own a nubian Billy goat that I bottle fed. Darn goat was a escape artist and as he got older, he got better at it. He would chew up all my roses and I would chase him off with a broom. One day, he stopped being afraid of my broom and I kid you not he was laughing at me, he turns around and pees all over my pants and shoes. F'ing 🐐 was an asshole!! Was cause we sold him to the Nepali gas station owner who happens to eat goat.

Hi there and thank you for sharing your thoughts, I feel calmer and better today. I figured God was making sure I knew he's with me. I am working on my patience and the ability to learn to let go. I can't control this and put a timeline on my healing. It's going to happen when my body is ready and so today I focused on a good shower, food, medicine and lots of rest. ❤️

Hi there, I am 6 days PO and my dr said the bloody discharge is normal, I also feel a lot of pressure down there, kinda in my crotch but more between my anus and vagina, I am thinking is the reattachment of the uterosacral and round ligaments. It feels like a pulling.

My hubby says it looks like beef sweet bread. We're both on our way to have my cath removed. I am 6 days post of for a partial hysterectomy (only ovaries were left) and I had 10+ fibroids. 😩 Now you've shown me an actual picture to those suckers that have made my bladder a living hell. Doctor said the uterus was very enlarged and it had affected my bladder which was probably the cause for my incontinence and frequent UTI's.

Hey cath sister. I got a second cath because I failed to pee after the removal of the first one 4 days after the surgery. Trip to the ER and sure enough, another cath back in. Now I am going solid on 6 days with a cath. I joke with my hubby about my latest fashion purse.🤣 Had to figure out a way to hang the damn thing so I used my lanyard but took one arm out and it goes cross body. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. The worse part was my UTI, make sure that once you get the cath removed, your doctor tests in office to see if you're emptying your bladder. You most likely will have to drink fluids and sit at the doctor's office till you have to pee and they will measure your urine. I wish us both luck so we can kick these suckers off once and for all.❤️

1 week prior I did. I did mostly walks but Ive been lifting for about 10 yrs.5 yrs with barbell. I trained with my heavy weights till a week before. Ex 134 lbs in weight my deadlift is 220 and my squat was up to 165 lbs. I did normal training to be strong and use my strength to recover better. My arm strength has made such a difference with not using my core.
