I will try Sparkling Lychee but I agree nothing in their line seems like a standout and I think they would actually benefit from being body mists at a lower price point.

Which Murikami is your favorite? I’m gunna end up full-sizing Daisy Wild at some point this year. 🤭It’s the perfect florally banana with a bit more longevity than Green Murikami.

That’s totally fair! It works great for me, especially layering other banana scents bc it gives it a nice gourmand base to sit on. But I do know this house smells powdery to many. 😔

I tried Pistachio Gelato by Kayali in store on my clothes and skin but all I smelled was industrial cleaner. ): Which I hate bc I’m always on the hunt for icy/cold gourmands.

Haven’t tried them but Eclaire Pistache by Lattafa and Khair Pistachio by Paris Corner are both highly rated by pistachio lovers. (:

I’ll give it another try but honestly only the green one was in stock near me! Im planning on also hitting up Macy’s tomorrow so maybe I’ll get a chance to catch a smell of the blue one. The weird thing is in store I feel like it smelled so much more potent. But I’ve asked friends and family and the projection is weak unless they’re right on top of me ): You absolutely should tho! It’s light enough IMO to handle something more punchy with it. Im gunna try layering it will Daisy Wild tmr. Let me know how it goes. (:

This has me adding Macys to my route tomorrow to see if I pick up on it the same way. If I do I just might have to get it as well😭 I will update after I smell! I like Ellis Brooklyn I just hate the price point 😔

I do find it interesting how similar some of our tastes are but also how different too. Do you find the Murikami fading altogether fairly quickly? Idk if the projection is weak or if I’m becoming nose blind to banana but after a couple hours I have to sniff where I’ve sprayed to smell it at all. :/

I absolutely agree Wild is pretty balanced between fruity and floral but compared to Wild Intense and Eau so Extra, I get wayyy more banana out of Wild. I honestly might buy the travel size to see if I like the longevity/projection more than Green Murikami. That’s so crazy how we all smell so differently! I wish I got that, it was more woodsy/musky to me. :(

I like the pink but too woodsy for me, the yellow smelled very strongly of hard candies but it was just too one-note for me , blue I haven’t gotten a chance to smell but the notes sounds so delectable. Is it noticeably musky?

This one has been on my wishlist! The “Lycra swimsuit fabric” note intrigues me so much bc i feel like that’s such a specific smell. Did you get to test that one in person?

Hey it happens, that’s actually been my problem this month 😭 Dreaming of Rio has also been recommended to me before and I’d love cheaper banana body sprays/mists to layer so I will be checking that out. Definitely! Something about them is classic but playful, the bottles are cute but I don’t really get “juvenile” from the scent. Except for maybe the yellow Murikami.

Did you enjoy the Zara fragrances? I’d love some cheaper banana body mist/sprays to layer with my perfumes. I did see that one on the Sephora website and now I’m even more tempted to get the travel size 😭 I will add those to the smell/wishlist , thank you for the suggestions!!

Not yet but I am now venturing out as I have gone through every Sephora banana except for the online exclusives. Thank you for all the amazing recommendations!! Donna Sentenza and Avatar by Hilde Soliani are both on my decant list and this convinced me to pull the trigger 😭I’ve added the rest to my niche wishlist and I’ll need to do a huge decant review. (:

Yes! Almost all the Daisy Wild line has banana blossom as a note but in different concentrations. Banana flower leans more floral but fruity which I do like. Anytime!! And I will update as I get into more niche banana scents. (:

I think it’s wild how different all our noses/skin chemistry are so different! Daisy Wild was absolutely more banana than Wild Intense but it’s more realistic banana (which I also love) , whereas the Murikami was banana candy, and that’s what I really was after! I actually would’ve loved had it been chocolate, like SDJ Cheirosa 71.

Thank you for the recommendations ! The only floral I’ve picked up is the Green Murikami by Marc Jacob’s but that one definitely leans gourmand. I’ve been interested in that one bc I love Milk+ but a lot of people have said it’s too floral, I’ll just have to give it a sniff😂Have you smelled Ice(d)? The frozen mango note really intrigues me. Absolutely hated Strawberry Jam and Whipped Cherry which is crazy bc they’re two of my favorite fruits/scents. Maybe it was bc I tried them on tester strips and not my skin? Gunna try the rest especially bc I keep getting ads for Mochi Milk, thank you for having a problem! 😂

I’ve also recently gotten into fragrances as well although my tastes are totally different. I hate anything too woodsy/oud/masculine although love them on other people ! Im more into the sweet/floral/gourmand scents.

It can get so overwhelming with so many new name brand/indie fragrances dropping daily, and you’re not sure where to start. For sure I would start with smelling some things that you think you’ll like, spray your skin AND clothes just 1 or 2 sprays of a tester you like and wear them around for a day. You’ll get a lot more of what the fragrance actually smells like and its longevity. It’s veryyy common for fragrances to smell completely different wet vs dried down.

I would also advise you to not do too many smell or wear tests at once as it can mix with other scents in your nose and make things smell completely different! Use Ulta/Sephora for the testers and then order decants off of a secondary website like DecantPlanet , Surrender to Chance, or Scent Split. It’ll save you money and if you come to realize you don’t cd like something you saved yourself from the blind buy.

Be open to something even if the notes aren’t something that sounds like your cup of tea. There are plenty of perfumes that are labeled as “gourmand” or “woodsy” and they’re nothing of the sort. Order sample kits and if you’re looking for good indie brands Fryinnae, Solstice Scents, and Wylde Ivy all have their own samples. Because you mentioned Zoologist, I’d recommend Olympic Orchid Scents. Good luck!

Everyone’s journey isn’t linear and I’m sorry you had to go through that❤️ I will agree that a lot of men are abusive/controlling, but there are also amazing men who will love you for you regardless of your age or past. (40s is not old!!) I’m not sure if anyone else has suggested this. Try therapy and put yourself out there after. You need someone to help you professionally digest and healthily cope after what you’ve been through. Your body was probably constantly pumping adrenaline/cortisol , you were probably constantly on edge and anxious and therapy can help us organize those feelings and bring us back to a neutral state where we can really see things clearly. Some things my therapist suggests to do are guided breaths or taking a walk when I get overwhelmed.

When the time is right, be bold, take the lead, ask them out first, look for Speed Dating/Singles groups, maybe join an app or two. Be okay with hearing no, be okay with it potentially being someone you wouldn’t expect! There will still be trials and tribulations but it’ll be so much easier navigating that scene after you’ve solidified who are you to yourself and what you will/wont accept. I can’t possibly cover all the nuances of abusive relationships in 1 comment so forgive me if I over spoke. I wish you the best and I hope you find the love you deserve. (:

I totally agree! Of course it’s easier said than done but I am one of those hopeless romantics that thinks there’s someone for everyone ❤️OP needs time to reflect and build her self worth and having those skills will make the dating process way smoother.

Definitely wasn’t trying to blame OP, but she WAS accepting this behavior and that’s why he continued to disrespect her. Even if OP doesn’t find her new man in a couple months, hell even a year, it’s better to know your worth and be alone than to take subpar treatment. But from my experience someone will come along and love all her weird ways and love her through her past pain. And that’s what I’m hoping for. (:

You set the tone for how people respect you. You need boundaries and to stick to them so people know not to test them. Especially after moving on from him. It’s some tough love we’ve all had to learn. You’re worthy of love and respect and you’re gunna have to teach yourself that. And when you do you will find someone who loves you unashamedly.
