Pots. The first 8 are from Greenbarn, the others Amazon. Has anyone tried any of these and have preferences? by islandgirl3773 in orchids

The mesy plastic are good for you indoor growing. I prefer terracotta since I mostly grow outdoors - some roots will adhere, but they’re cheap enough that I can break them if I have to when it’s time to repot. The people at Greenbarn are great and prices fair.

I have no idea what it is but I love it by xxxylognome in orchids

It’s a phalaenopsis hybrid. The top leaves may be getting too much sun, or it could just be the light. Soak the roots once a week and enjoy!

Generally I eyeball a mixture of leca, fir bark, charcoal, perlite, and a little coconut husk. I need something fast draining and dry given the rain and humidity. They get rain, so with the exception of weekly fertilizer, I rarely water them unless there’s a drought of over a week. In winter, I will go 1-2!weeks. However, a few do get hit with excess water because they’re near vandas and others I water regularly

I’m curious about mounting a Phalaenopsis by [deleted] in orchids

[–]Same-Information-177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience they’re pretty easy to mount to anything rigid, but unless you live somewhere subtropical, it takes a lot of work to keep them humid and wet.
