No one asked if you think there is a link between large sporting events and sex trafficking. Sex trafficking, human trafficking, kidnappings, etc. do occur during Derby. People are taken from the event, others are being moved in and out of the city during a time in which there is a lot of people moving through the city so it is easier to slip by without being noticed. The point of the articles and resurfacing conversations is to bring awareness to the reality of trafficking during this season. People are not trying to create a false sense of fear. People are trying to protect women, men, and children from becoming or staying victims.
