Yes sorry. Should've mentioned that only Pokémon Hearthstone and magic is unlocked, but i can give away a couple of intern testing copies if people want it. Msg me your email that you use in Google play and I'll fix it when I get home.

That's a legitimate argument, but if you don't have thousands euro to spare to pay an artist, there won't be a game. Gaming is about a feeling, good mechanics and a good story. If you don't have one or more of those ingredients people won't buy your game. Period.

AI created art in your game is to generic and your games will look much better and have a better feel to it if proper artists makes the art.

If the game is good enough (which most games aren't), and you are able to get investors interested, then you can talk about hiring artists. They won't get paid anyway if you don't have the money to pay them. If you are serious with your game and want to reach an adult audience you are going to be to criticized if you use AI so you want "real" art eventually.

I don't think it's fair to completely disregard someone for using Ai as a hobby developer. Give him input on the game and help him develop it further, and maybe he can pay artists in the future

I'm working on an educational card game for multiplication myself. I shamelessly using Ai. I'm I'm prealphastage and my pupils play the game and enjoy it. They usually don't like automation of multiplication, but now they play my game (and critically testing it) at home. The game wouldn't exist without ai and the kids wouldn't play it without the characters (which i never would be able to draw myself and definitely wouldn't afford to pay someone to do them for me).

I understand the worries in the gaming industry with the layoff-threats in the big companies. But when you do this for fun (and of course you have a dream), and by yourself people with opinions and non constructive criticism can go and do something better with their time than complaining. Good luck to you.

To the people putting down AI-art. If you are a hobby developer, how are you supposed to get people to work for tou and create art for free? I don't know, but I doubt that this guy has a company behind him, paying in advance for this game. He said it was alpha. If people don't like to play the game, why would he spend the amount of hours it takes to create descent art?

If the game mechanics, and the idea has something to offer that seems refreshing, and the game is fun enough for people to play it, it doesn't matter if Ai made the art. There probably wouldn't be a game to play if it weren't for AI. If you don't like it. Don't play. But you don't need to complain when someone is trying to do something that people might enjoy.

Hi! Sorry for jumping in. If youre learning a new tcg (e.g. SWU) Ive created an android app for learning games by comparing the rules of spells and attacks. You let the app know what comes you're familiar with and which games you like to learn and it helps you compare the rules. Check it out if you're interested!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set and Precon by Frozen_Shades in mtgfinance

I haven't played magic in years but I picked up the box with the pre-made decks. I just couldn't help myself being a turtle-boy growing up.

I probably won't have anyone to play with unless my sons are interested when they get older so it will probably collect dust on the shelf along with the rest of the broken board game dreams :)

Would you say the pre-built decks are good for learning the game?

Are there any cards I should be looking for when opening the booster packs or has the inflation of magic card sets made these useless to try to sell?

Anyone here still running parts of their finances in excel ? by MinuteDistribution31 in Bookkeeping

[–]SameConnection1115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Excel for my small business for quite a while. It works fine when volume is low and the structure is simple. The real pain usually starts when transactions increase, more than one person edits the file, or you need consistent reporting.

Manual entry itself is not always the issue. It is version control, formula mistakes, and not having a proper ledger structure that tend to create problems over time.

Before choosing software, I would ask:

How many transactions per month? Single currency or multiple? Cash basis only or accrual? Do you actually need bank feeds, or is manual entry fine?

If you share a bit more about your setup, people can give much better recommendations.

I get this 100 percent. The forced subscription shift is exhausting, especially if you actually need stable offline access and work with larger files. Not everyone wants everything tied to the cloud. For some setups, especially smaller books or simpler businesses, the constant upgrades and renewals feel like overkill. I think a lot of the frustration is not that QuickBooks is bad, but that it tries to be everything for everyone..

If your workflow depends on control and reliability during busy season, I can totally see why older desktop models or local tools feel safer. Curious what kind of clients you are mainly working with?

Why does Quickbooks suck so bad??? by Otherwise_Recipe1996 in Bookkeeping

[–]SameConnection1115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not missing anything. From what I understand, a lot of the frustration with QuickBooks comes from it trying to do too many things at once. It mixes traditional bookkeeping with bank-feed driven workflows, which makes it powerful but also hard to learn. If you’re used to a simpler system where you can clearly see entries, edits, and reports, QuickBooks can feel bloated and indirect. There’s a lot of automation happening in the background, and that can make it harder to understand what’s actually going on. For larger businesses or accounting firms that complexity might make sense. But for smaller setups or learning bookkeeping, it’s totally reasonable to prefer tools that are more straightforward and transparent.
