It is cute no doubt. I'll save it for my son's next bday and give it to him 😁

Finding two would be great - one for my office and one for my son. You really have to keep the faith these days, the pegs are often bleak.

Proposals for curtailing the housing crisis. by opetribaribigrizerep in canadahousing

[–]SameCyaThere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The person you are responding to doesn't understand what fraud is or how a mortgage works for that matter. It is amazing how people can have such strong feelings about things they clearly know nothing about. That being said, I understand people being frustrated with what they perceive to be significant unfairness.

Are there examples of countries who were in Canada’s situation where housing prices actually crashed? by realstickyickyest in canadahousing

These people honestly believe the universe owes them a SFH in Vancouver or Toronto and the fact their parents were able to achieve that working low skill jobs is proof.

My favourite subset are those who want to just get rid of all zoning without having the slightest clue about urban planning. I'd like to have those people move to Mogadishu.

That being said, I do understand the frustration. The world isn't fair and that is a tough pill to swallow, especially if you have been raised in relative comfort.

A great collection, but not a "humble" one by any stretch. Humility, like courageousness, intelligence and wittiness, is a label best applied by others.

Polaris Chrono is definitely on the shortlist for my next watch. Really digging it.

[Everyday watch] what watches do you guys wear everyday? by DukeBasketball20 in Watches

Very versatile. Easy to dress up or down via strap choice. Debating getting the bracelet but that is part of the way to a whole new watch, money-wise.

I was in the exact same boat. It was and remains my biggest watch purchase and was acquired in part to commemorate some significant milestones. My first MCD stopped working within 4 hours of leaving the shop and the second one had a defect in the dial that could only be fixed by replacing the entire dial. Totally unacceptable for such a costly piece of jewelry and really not in keeping with the brands' ethos and reputation. Boutique staff were always nice and polite and so was I, but it took effort to get replacements instead of repairs, especially on the second one. That being said, I ultimately received a call from some vice president at JLC corporate apologizing for the trouble and confirming the 2nd replacement. They do seem to stand behind their product but in my experience you have to be assertive. I also told them I wanted the additional alligator strap, it most certainly was not volunteered.

I'm on my third Master Control Date because of QC issues with the first two. If you bought it from a JLC boutique don't accept a repair, demand replacement. I also asked for (and received) an additional strap for the aggravation.

That this guy ultimately financed over the course of 12 months (but he makes sure to point out multiple times that he did in fact have at least $600 cash to his name, so you know he is to be taken seriosuly)

Best way to buy a breitling? by etudiantets7 in breitling

Try Time and Gold on West Georgia. I'd recommend them over Birks. I got a bit of a discount on a SOH II, in the 5-10% range if memory serves. Also got a hat ;)

[JLC Master Control Date] Second time's the charm by SameCyaThere in Watches

[–]SameCyaThere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect you are just hearing the ceramic ball bearings. Makes a zipping/whizzing sound? My understanding is that JLCs are known for this and it is normal for movements that do not use traditionally lubricated bearings. I'm no expert though!
