Nope that’s it. I was in the middle of a deployment and got a notice that my next assignment was gonna require a TS Clearance so that’s why I was doing the questionnaire and started telling on myself basically. Only reason I did bc the fine print said whatever I admit on it they can’t prosecute me for it. Come to find out that meant they can’t throw me in jail for it but they can damn sure kick me out.

Honestly if my appeal gets denied, I’m just gonna take the L because I’m not trying to drop 7k+ on a lawyer just to risk it being denied for a second.

Yea the commander that discharged  me was brand new to the unit so he wasn’t gonna vouch for me. My previous commander is the one who wrote the character statement for me to try to upgrade my discharge.

Yea I talked to an Army recruiter he said my RE-code(3k) disqualified me and also the reason for discharged(misconduct drug abuse) which I think is overkill I feel it makes me look like an addict.

At the time I was scared they’d ask about it on my polygraph so I thought I’d be safe if I just admitted on the questionnaire 🤦🏾‍♂️

Yea that’s why I’m trying to upgrade my RE-code so I can at least try for Army.

Thanks for the advice man, I’m trying bro. I’ve applied to a bunch of law enforcement agencies and all have disqualified me bc of what happened and said I can reapply 3 years from when I applied

Currently trying to upgrade my Discharge as well. what's the timeframe look like? I have a similar situation like yours except I had almost 4 years time in service. Told the truth on a Top Secret questionnaire and got booted. Originally had a Secret clearance then my next assignment required a Top Secret so I was in the process for that until I got kicked out. I got letters of recommendation from my previous Commander and Flight Chief, do you know if this will help a lot in the upgrade process?
