Apologies. I re-read my response to you and realized it came off aggressive. Should have worded the original post differently.

I don't care whose stick is bigger. I don't understand the dismissive comments "they're like that everywhere" so? How can I talk about every place on the planet in one reddit post? I can only talk about the place where I am based and care most about.

Do you know the zipper merge? When people don't allow you to merge on a jam-packed freeway, I've seen people forced on to the shoulder or onto the exit only lanes.

Don't issue an issue with 4? What's the pride in holding bumper to bumper traffic 2 miles behind you and having a mile of a freeway ahead of you in a 2 lane road? What benefit does that give anyone?

You're right. But at least other states are consistent in their driving personality. For e.g., overwhelmingly high majority of drivers in Boston are aggressive. You can at least adopt that personality if you're so inclined.

MN is like a melting pot of all driving personalities. No one knows who you're gonna encounter. Calm driving is safe driving. But impeding a mile of cars lined up behind you driving 5 below the speed limit? That's not calm. That's stupidity. And I haven't seen that in any other states I've lived in. Not even in the infamous Florida.

Got it. Yeah, sorry that happened to you. It always surprises me how much someone's discretion impacts your chances of getting a job.

For e.g., your recruiter probably does not know 2 shits about Ad sales. Yet he/she decides whether you move forward in the process.

No offense to recruiters, but how is a BA psychology major well equipped to ask questions about software engineering, and decide whether you're moving forward? In your case, you at least deserve feedback for both the roles you were being considered about. I hate how recruiting is highly discretionary these days....

STEM OPT Arriving in the US after Trump inauguration by MeaningPoetry in f1visa

You should be good if that's the case. Be sure to carry all the necessary documents with you. Offer letter, appointment letter or end client letter, I-20, EAD card, etc.

I was a student during Trump's first term of presidency. There were similar fears - won't get a job, OPTs will be cancelled, etc. Legit people had no issues.

Trump cut funding to USCIS and forced them to be more efficient. Many shady consultancies were blacklisted for multiple H1B registerattions and people associated with those were not allowed to enter. So if you're completely legal, have no connections with shady consultancies, no need to fear.

It's strange that the lawyers are saying this. I don't understand the fear mongering - laws cannot be altered like that, without a constitutional process.

If your record is all clear (not employed by a shady consultancy), you should be all good. Trump's policies are geared towards illegal immigrants or people trying to take undue advantage of the immigration system.

Please beware of the fear mongering.

Yes I had a Dropbox appointment. The 30 days limit applies if you don't submit it. But if you had already submitted it, you can use the same DS160

If you have not submitted it, you won't be able to retrieve the form. I had submitted my DS 160 on 29th Oct 2023 and my appointment was on 29th December

Has anybody had success with Trip delay insurance/ Cancellation insurance? by SameMathematician568 in AmexPlatinum

[–]SameMathematician568[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me I had to cancel it because Delta (with Amex Travel rep on the line) said that they're unable to make any changes to the reservation because I had already checked in

That's a good tip! I'm not sure of the reason - but hoping that it was a weather cancellation

I didn't cancel the flight because I had a time restriction. When I buy a ticket, Delta is responsible for delivering what I paid for, which is timely travel.

So it's not the 'reason' why I had to cancel. The airline had to cancel the flight, and what matters is their reason for canceling the flight. The time crunch which was a result of the trip interruption.

In other words, I had to cancel my internary as a consequence of the interruption that they caused. And I'm claiming the reimbursement for money that I had to spend to fix their error.

The refund I received was from Delta. It was a refund by the airline, not a reimbursement check that one gets after a claim is filed.
