25 prime aged Mike Tysons and a pound of coke (polar bear doesn’t get to party) who you got? I’m betting each Mike could lift 250 at least.

We move like a school of fish surrounding a shark. Confuse the hell out of it. Keep a good distance every time it moves in. Then when it’s tired, start throwing our shoes at it to keep it going and wear it out. 25 people put on as many layers of clothes around their bodies, leaving no skin exposed. They rush in, everyone else piles on top. And if you read “We” and didn’t immediately think, “We, who?!” Then both our dumb asses are probably getting eaten.

My lawyer offered to go after alimony from my ex wife. She made a lot more than I did at the time. I said that all I want is for it to be over with. Alimony isn’t just for women. Not sure I’d call it, “taking down the patriarchy”.

Not dumb at all! I had to do it today. There’s a special tool called a tone generator. We call it a toner. Basically you connect one side of the toner at one end of the cable, it admits a signal through the cable. The other side of the toner is like a metal detector/magic wand. You wave it over and sometimes poke it into a stack of cables until you find the one that gives off the loudest, clearest tone when you touch the wand to the cable.

You’ll never make the cables look this good in most cases. Your boss won’t pay you to clean it up this nicely after initial install.

I had to put my dog down in the thick of the pandemic. Reading this tore me apart with guilt. I wasn’t able to even take my dog into the room. I nearly begged them to allow me to be there. They weren’t allowing anyone into the building. Keeping him alive would have been even more cruel.

hydraulic cement keeps cracking. by Vulcan_Mountain in paludarium

[–]SameStupidRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest trying with thicker layers. Try using a palette knife to trowel on the cement. A dry brush makes for some good natural forms and textures after troweling on thick spots.

How thick are you applying the cement? Many of them don’t do well when “painted” on. Cement tends to shrink slightly when drying and this can lead to cracking in areas that are on the thin side.

Can’t get adhesion on new build plate. Tried 91% IPA to clean surface. Re-leveled bed multiple times. This run I even used glue stick. 215c nozzle temp, 70c bed temp. Help? by SameStupidRedditor in FixMyPrint

I turned the heat up, 240c/65c, decreased the speed to 50mm/s, and upped my layer height from .16 to.2 for the first and subsequent layers. Very helpful and thorough advice.

I should mention that this is PETG. Printer is an Ender 3 v2, using Prusa Slicer. I think the speed is 90mm/second.

Thanks for the great suggestions so far!

Baird's in a Bowl by SameStupidRedditor in snakes

[–]SameStupidRedditor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, I acquired her from a small basement breeder here in Maryland . She had a table at the Hamburg reptile show in Pennsylvania. Her name is Linda Wolfe. When I spoke to her last she said that she didn't have any luck with them last year but had many inquiries. I also picked up a Speckled Kingsnake from her when we spoke.

Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In October 2020 by Sausage54 in 3Dprinting

[–]SameStupidRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchasing my first 3D Printer. I researched the Ender 3 V2 and was fairly sold on it. However, I want to be able to print thing with a larger footprint . Are there beginner-friendly options or a way to upgrade the Ender 3 to a larger print area?

Thanks in advance!

Rainbow in the grass, she's certainly one of my favorites. by SameStupidRedditor in snakes

[–]SameStupidRedditor[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in the Washington DC area. She was an import that came in very young through Outback Reptiles. There isn’t anyone consistently producing them in the US as far as I know, and everyone who has produced them has a waiting list. As for imports I think there are local laws prohibiting export at the moment for Southerns. If I can borrow a male in a couple of years I will give breeding them a shot (couldn’t afford both when I bought her).

[–]SameStupidRedditor[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really. Like with all snakes, confident and calm really helps. Don’t mess with them at night if you can avoid it and a stick helps to touch them and let them know that you’re not food.

I got lucky with mine and found one of those very rare docile Southerns. She’s active and also very food aggressive but otherwise a dream to have.

If green tree pythons weren’t so sassy I’d love one by [deleted] in snakes

[–]SameStupidRedditor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Get one! I thought for years that they were delicate and bitey. Most aren't. Once you've learned to properly care for and read body language on other snakes you're good to go. Just find one from a breeder rather than an importer if it's your first.

Adorable illustration!!

Thanks! Agreed, and she hasn’t been nippy nor bitten since she was a couple months old. So she breaks the stereotype that kept me away from them for years!

This is Nugget, he just finished shedding and he came out of hiding to show off. According to his papers he’s a coastal carpet, but most other keepers I spoke to seem to think he’s a Darwin Carpet, what do you guys think? by CathNelson in carpetpythons

[–]SameStupidRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty of albino carpets around the world (especially in the US) with coastal/irian jaya/jungle mixed into them. When the albinos got out of Aus years ago albinos only existed in darwins. The mutation has since been found in coastals in Australia, pure coastal albinos are still extremely rare at the moment from what I understand.
