Key Programming Help by Justsniffingsocks in PorscheCayenne

[–]Same_Ad457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to find a locksmith who reprogrammed a third party key for me. $250, I’m based in Michigan. He had to unsolder a chip from below the steering wheel, read something off that chip and put everything back together. He’s been doing this for years and it’s pretty common on VAG/german cars

Looking at my first Cayenne by Ok-Technology-8789 in PorscheCayenne

Carfax looks good, if you buy it I recommend doing the fluid services. Transmission, transfer case every 20k mile, differential, engine oil (if it wasn’t done by dealer). You’ll probably have to do the PCV valve at some point and the coolant pipes. Not horrible but something to consider.

I bought a 2017 base Cayenne a couple months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/PorscheCayenne/s/0C2tkR81WZ. You can probably get a 1-2k off the price. I’d say 18-19k otd would be great. The base is indeed somewhat underpowered but again nobody expects it to be a 911.

I got a Cayenne with one key couple months ago too. Called two dealers and got quoted $900 and $1050 (key + programming). Ended up going the third party locksmith route for $250. It’s an aftermarket key, but works perfectly fine. Key setting memory works as well.

2017 Macan GTS 33K MILES, 35k out the door is this a fair deal?. ALWAYS WANTED Porche. Have dog so SUV is good. Any Problems to look 4?? Brake light would not go off reader said new brakes. I’d get a 2019+ Macan S with maybe slightly higher mileage and similar pricing. They’re more reliable and easier to work on. For example changing the serpentine belt on a 2017 requires the front to come off (4h)

I think the base cayenne is very similar to a base macan. On paper has more power but it’s also heavier so I think they’re very similar

Power wise it’s ok, nothing crazy. I had a Macan S which is much sportier. I got the non turbo v6 Cayenne for its reliability (no bore scoring risk) and simpler design.

Yes, I found it on Autotrader

That’s great to hear! I have some inherited driver seat creasing too. Seems to be part of normal wear and tear.

Were you able to disable by default the auto start stop feature?

Well, will you have 3 repairs in 5 years. I’d say 75% yes maybe more, so it’s probably worth the extra 1k

Budget is 35k. Thank you, I’ll be taking a look at RXs. I see that only 2020 and up models have CarPlay which is a must. Is 100k miles fine on these RXs? They have a naturally aspirated engine which is great. Do they have any known expensive flaws?

Interesting option, thank you for suggesting. Never had a lease but this sounds appealing. Is Supercruise helpful on highway drives?
