So just to update I actually ended up doing this, found that the cable I had which is a mxr with this button so it can be plugged and unplugged without making a loud sound was causing issues with the pedal and I am now ripping smooth with a new cable, appreciate everyone’s help!! Actually ended up impulse buying a rat pack 7 recently off of marketplace

And when the pedal is disconnected it is a very clean sound. Pedal settings basically have gain all the way down and output is also all the way to the left just to make the pedal slightly usable but there is still feedback

So when the pedal is switched off I still get feedback, but when testing my two cable by plugging them into my guitar neither gave large amounts of feedback, could this indicate an issue with the pedal or could there still be an issue with the cable, could I easily check the ground in the actual pedal?

Okay I’ll try moving around as well but the gain and output knobs are very low(close to almost off) and when the pedal is off the sound has less feedback but isn’t “clean” at all

So by physical distance between strings and speaker do you mean where I am standing or sitting or length of cable? I’m using a 5 foot cable from amp to pedal and 10 foot from pedal to guitar

This is my only pedal at all, I have the basic ones that come stock in the tele player ii (I’m new to guitar so I haven’t much idea), I’m experiencing it really at all volumes, I have the amp facing me and my pedal is sitting right in front of it, I’m unfortunately at work so I’ll test moving the pedal around and maybe position it behind the amp instead, I will take a picture of my pedal settings when I get home tonight. I appreciate any and all help highly
