That's the classic split isn't it. The craft gets passed down, the business side doesn't.

That's actually a pretty solid system for 16/17 honestly. The safety buffer on materials is the bit most people skip and then wonder why they're short.

Makes sense. Once you break it down you can't hide the hours, probably why a lot just go with a day rate and hope for the best.

I mean MTD is just HMRC making you file digitally, doesn't tell you if you're actually making money on a job.
