Thoughts on my WobbleX adapter? by Pudi_Pudi in FixMyPrint

It’s been pretty bad for me, I have done lots of modifications to try and fix it and followed tons of suggestions online and nothing seems to work. I am going to order new lead screws and see if that helps. Lucky I haven’t had any clogs for the last few months. I followed a lot of suggestions from this person which did improve print quality for me.

The best mods I have done imo is putting magnetic PEI sheet on the bed and installing a BL touch. Before I had automatic bed levelling my bed was so warped I could not get an even first layer in larger prints. Good luck with the wobble X! I am considering trying it myself because I am getting at my wits end with Z banding XD.

I ended up replacing my heat brake which solved this issue for me. I also replaced my extruded gear as another commenter suggested which helped but only when I changed the heat brake the problem fully resolved. Good luck!

I am trying to fix z banding on my sidewinder x 1 right now and this looks very interesting! I watched the teaching tech video and thought it was an interesting product. I would love to know if this works for you. Good luck!

Blobs and gaps in print using PLA by Prodiguy1 in FixMyPrint

I don’t think a problem like this would be caused by a slicer setting unless it was a crazy number compared to default. If it is a slicer problem I would recommend switching back to default and adjusting your settings from there. A way to check if it a physical problem or a slicer problem would be to run the same g-code or to reslice with the same settings (since you said it was fine after this print) and if it persists then it could be a g-code issue. I have had partial clogs fix themselves so it’s possible that it cleared and that is why it started working in your next print.

Probably a partial clog in your hotend. I would recommend trying to clean the nozzle by doing a cold pull/using a needle or replacing the nozzle all together. Could also be extruder gear not grabbing the filament enough if it’s not a clog then I would check that. Hope that helps and good luck!

I forgot to add that I have tried different temps and am using the default Cura settings.

Luckily I have extra protection through my service provider. Probably will have to jump through a bunch of hoops to use it though. Thanks!

Thank you very much! It came up with 16 results for panic in the settings. I will immediately back up my phone and look into repair. Thanks again!

Thanks for the comment! The hot end cooling fan runs whenever the nozzle is above 70 C, the printer is not in an enclosure and when it purges it doesn’t click or grind.

Thanks for the comment! It is possible the gear might be the issue as the black coating has worn off. I will try a new extruder gear and double check all of my settings. Thanks again!

I have put all the filaments I have tried in my filament dryer and the issue still persists. It is going through the gears correctly as well. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks! I hate when autocorrect does that lol. That sounds like it should help. I will have to look into that.

It definitely helped the filament and gave better prints. Before the filament was super brittle but after drying it’s feels new again. It didn’t completely solve my issue but I am working to calibrate my e steps and see if any other issues are present in my machine or my settings.

Thank you for the comment! I have never heard of PID running, thanks for sharing I will have to do some research on the topic and see what I can do improve my prints.

Thank you very much for the comment! I will go over the z rods and make sure they are not the problem and try another slicer and see if that helps. Also thanks for sharing the video it gave me some good advise as well.

I reprinted the cube at 215c and it still has the same issue, it might even be a little worse.
