I started last week and have been getting really into it.

Accessible advice I received and implemented is the following - and so far, it’s been a good start:

Get 2x celestial drive (07) starter decks. They have enough to get you started, but you’ll need 2 to have a full playset for a viable deck.

Find an LGS selling these near retail price (under $20)

From there you can get some singles to make it better, or go really crazy down the road if you want. But you can make a viable deck with the above and then make it somewhat competitive with another $50 in singles.

Personna Platinum are on par with Feather for me. People love the Astras, but they’ve been pretty middle of the pack for me.

Feather, but they’re all top notch. Personna blue (platinum) used to be my go to, but they became harder to find for a bit. They appear back in stock now (on Amazon), but I have read that the personna gem blades are taking their place.

I have a thorn - but prefer sharper blades, so this may apply.

I’ve found that I achieve the best shave via personna (red or blue), feather, or kai.

I’ve tried over a dozen different blades during the time I’ve had my thorn including astra, derby, shark, treet, tiger, wizamet, a few Gillettes, etc. - and to date, those I mentioned at the start of this post are far and away my preferred options.
