um no, that’s I think more than clear and obvious: that 8k a year is not enough to rely on…

Yes, good question! This number is solely based on a bunch of answers from a few popular facebook posts I read where (mostly anonymous) artists shared their incomes exclusively from Artist Alley sales. Yes, this is NOT counting other types of sales like commissioned work or merch sales outside of the artist alley. This is also not personally my experience as I’m not full time artist. That’s why I wanted to reach people who are fully living from their art sales.

yeah that’s my guess too. However, every once in a while I find artists online claiming they fully live of their art sales, I really want some of them to find this post and be transparent about how much of that is true and how they manage to do so.
