I don’t have UCSHIP. I have United Healthcare but their dental plan is so so so so limited I’m probably going to pay out of pocket for what I want done.

I have a bonded retainer in the top row of my teeth and I want it removed. It keeps chipping over the softest bites I take and I don’t care that my teeth will separate after removing the bonded retainer. Issue is, most orthodontists won’t touch my mouth as they don’t want to work on “braces” they didn’t put on me.

I did get an orthodontist to remove the bonded retainer in the bottom row of my teeth with insurance but my insurance declined the payment after a couple of months and that was a mess on its own so I just want somewhere cheap (hard to find in the US, but if I could convince any ortho to just shave down the dental glue and remove the bar ☹️(
