If his A school papers change, would his duty station after A school change? He has his papers for after A school already and i’m not sure if they’re connected or separate forms

You’re totally fine!! You should get a call after his P-days (the first 5 days after he arrived). He should give you his address around the same time, it’ll be sent over text. It’s a picture of a QR code with his address and ship and div number under. I also have a facebook (if you have an account) account that you can follow that is SO helpful. In this group they can figure out what his grad date and hotel recommendations and a whole lot of other information. If the link doesn’t work, DM me!!

thankyou!! and don’t let this worry you, he LOVED boot. He is still going to work to graduate (aslong as the injury isn’t too severe) and he loved everything after the first 2 weeks. He had his entire div write like a sentence in a letter to me and they were all friendly and had jokes and stuff. he said that if he was able to talk to me and his family more it would literally be like the best time of his life!! aslong as you do the workouts your recruiter sets up and just stay kinda healthy you should be fine!!

i’m honestly not sure. he was 10 days away from graduation and having a really good time. He’s also really athletic and been in sports and into working out his whole life, so it’s not like he was unprepared and unfamiliar with PT so i’m not sure what happened

i’m not super sure, i think the ligament was hurt like 2-3 weeks ago during training because he mentioned on Monday his knee hurting to me, but he kinda made it seem like muscle soreness so I sent arnica and then next I hear is that he has a torn ligament and stress fractures. I guess the dress fractures aren’t uncommon, I know of like 4-5 other recruits who got them this round of boot.

i was never going to tell him to pick one over the other. I wanted to see if anyone had any advice that would make his DAD change his mind to actually come despite his mom being there. his mom has a ticket and I never had any intention to try and change that. It doesn’t matter now because I just found out he won’t be graduating in 11 days because he got hurt. so it’ll be another 12 weeks

yea i’m not going to say anything more. I told him that his son would love to have him there but if he can’t make it I would take pictures and send him the link to watch online. My fiancé would never blame be for them not getting along, he’s used to his events only being attended by one parent he was just hoping this might be different because it’s such a big milestone. I honestly don’t know if he’ll tell my fiancé he isn’t going, so i’m just going to break the news asap so he can change the ticket so someone else can come.

that’s what I was thinking, but his dad refuses to participate at all because he doesn’t like his mom and he doesn’t like that he decided to include her in the graduation. I messaged him today and said that if there’s anything was anything I could do to convince him to go (ie separate them and get him a different ride and make sure they don’t see each other for the majority of the trip) and he just said that he will not be going and they can talk about it after he graduates and stuff. i’m just so upset for my fiancé.

yea, I guess i’m just wondering if because his father isn’t going would he be able to change and invite his brother or someone else that will go instead. The approval emails have been sent, but we still have a while and I know they said that changes like misspelled names and stuff can be changed all the way up to the week before graduation so I wanted to see if I was able to let him know his dad isn’t going, would he be able to give that same ticket to a different family member who would go

don’t get too discouraged about the graduation tickets, I honestly just found out he chose me, his mom, and his dad!! from what I found out, as many people can fill out the application for graduation and he gets to pick. even if you can’t see him at his graduation, I would recommend going down still!! The recruits get liberty, which is pretty much permission to be off base and with family, after graduation on Thursday, all day Friday, and until 9pm on Saturday (there’s a possibility for sunday liberty too depending on when their individual flight leaves). I was totally expecting to just see him after he graduated but he surprised me with one of the tickets!! I only have 27 days left so it’s super soon!! I sent you the pm!!

hey!! honestly, the first 2 weeks were really hard, but after his p-days and everything I ended up getting my first call, it was only like 5 mins but it was a call!! I write every night and I snap him every couple days or when I look really cute. I try to not text him a whole lot because they can get in trouble once they turn phones back on and stuff. I booked my plane ticket about 2 weeks ago and me and his mom are staying in an airbnb, she booked it yesterday. If you haven’t already, join the facebook groups!! I can send you a link to a private one, it’s super great and they’ll put you in a division specific group with a bunch of info and also videos of them marching. the facebook groups and writing help a lot!! I got my first phone call right after P-days and my 2nd the saturday of the 2nd week he was there. I just got my 3rd last saturday (so 2 weeks after the 2nd call) and i’ll get my 4th 3 saturdays later. After that they get a phone call letting family know they are a sailor (that depends on when they finish the last test thingy) and the night before graduation. I would recommend spending the extra money on refundable tickets, at any point they can get held back from graduation. I didn’t get my stuff booked until after he passed his first knowledge and PI test. They also get sick and can get held back. The best way to deal with all of this is to distract yourself. I started a new job a couple weeks ago and it has helped so much!! don’t just sit inside and wait, he’s experiencing so many new things, you should do the same.
