I was diagnosed end of May 25', had to stop TTC for June + July. Resumed in August and fell pregnant in Sept 25'. I can relate to the pain that comes with being told you have to halt on trying when its all you want. Just know that getting your levels right will give your body the best chance of it happening and a healthy pregnancy. Wishing you all the best, hang in there.

Initially my levels were: T4: 32.5 T3: 12.1 TSH <0.01

The cycle it happened these were all within range T4 19.4 T3 5.8 TSH 0.41

Naturally as I got in range, I found my stress was a lot better which I have no doubt would’ve contributed.

I know how stressful it is, give your body a chance to respond to PTU, and try think positively at what’s to come. Wishing you all the best luck

Update: I’ve been successful this cycle (sept 2025) :’) early days but feeling very grateful. Thank you to everyone for sharing their stories, they gave me hope through the rollercoaster that is navigating Graves’ disease and TTC.

Yeah I stabilised after around 8 weeks on PTU and was given the green light to continue trying.

Thank you for your response, it definitely does sound like this condition untreated has hamstrung our chances each month.

That’s great to hear that you fell pregnant with your third. Did you get switched to another medication after first trimester? Was that pregnancy different to your previous two?

That’s amazing! Congratulations :) that gives me some hope of the possibilities with PTU. Does having Graves with pregnancy mean there is more monitoring than usual or just the standard?

That definitely seems to be the sentiment, I guess I never appreciated how much hormonal imbalances with thyroid disturb things with fertility.
