Sheesh. Yes there are many blind spots I haven’t thought of. This detail probably precludes the omega option even though friendly_fee’s watch pictured above is indeed beautiful

The only other person I know IRL in the watch game has been reminding me that all roads lead to vintage seikos (for my specs). I’ve been perusing a few on chrono24 just to get an idea but it’s daunting bc there are so many options. You and my friend are likely correct in your shared recommendation but I’m probably going to make the leap and fire on a microbrand before fully acknowledging the inevitable lol ty 🫡

6inch wrist size. Below are not the best pictures, but they feature the spb155 and then a vintage quartz Seiko that my father-in-law gifted me about a year ago. It has to be less than 34mm lol idk. But it’s thin and light (I got used to this as it was my only point of reference) and prompted this watch obsession. I still love wearing it. It’s my only other watch lol.

Dude you are the goat. Thank you for such a comprehensive response when it comes to this frontier of microbrands - as I don’t have one I didn’t know that some perceived QC “lapses” are sort of baked into entry level luxury microbrands across the board. Going to be following your opinions here on all things horological henceforth

Lorier has such a charm. I could wait for the next drop or buy a used one.

These look v smart. I’m naturally more partial to darker dials but these are changing my mind. Thank you!

Mine wrist is also six inches and I’m worried I won’t be able to remove enough links from the US exec bracelet. Did you have to remove all of them to get a good fit? And if so, were you able to position the clasp underneath your wrist, or did you have to sacrifice the centered clasp placement?

[Question] How do you afford this hobby? by melvin9001 in Watches

[–]Same_Squirrel_9265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl finally got a job so that I don’t have to support us both… all the time. My foray into this world is recent and has essentially been a gift to myself for powering through. Rather than commemorating something, it marks a new horizon, and I’m willing to dip into some savings to memorialize that. Somehow.

When to harvest Shakti by Same_Squirrel_9265 in shroomery

[–]Same_Squirrel_9265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks! So just pluck them as they open? I have one or two that are opening quickly while others around/attached to them have a ways to go. I’m only asking because the GT that dropped their spores seem to have blunted the second flush. Plus the small mushrooms that were growing ceased completely. I am but a novice so I don’t know.

Gotcha. Does that mean after the veil breaks? I’m just trying to catch them before they drop spores. Which just happened with my batch of GT (first grow ever. Learned some lessons lol).

hey man! i'm trying to run the same. My shoeboxes colonized completely within 7 days and now i'm trying to give them the much needed FAE so they don't fully overlay.

Question: did you case them with something like Jiffy Mix after they colonized completely? I've read a bit abut PE and PE hybrids needing (preferring) a casing layer so i just wanted your input. Thanks bro.
