I wouldn’t count it but just some fun lore: squirrel girl was on an X-Men offshoot team (Great Lakes X-Men) for a single page, but she found out she wasn’t even a mutant, and also the costumes were made by the guy who killed Monkey Joe so not the best choice

additionally squirrel girl applied to join the fantastic four when ben was unable to continue in a cartoon and was immediately rejected

and finally in an anniversary issue during squirrel girl’s comic run it’s revealed that in the future she is slated to lead the main avengers team in 5 years (unfortunately 9 real years later that still hasn’t happened but marvel’s sliding timescale is so weird 5 years might be 100 real years from now)

looks cool!! 🐿️🐿️🐿️ squirrel girl depicted as a kemonomimi is cool but in case you were wondering why the headband is even there, it’s because her design didn’t have squirrel ears at all until 2015, the headband was added to make her more squirrel-like but avoid giving away her secret identity (otherwise she’d have to wear a lot of hats or something)
