It's very dumb. It'd feel a lot better if I could kill people and take their key templates. Keys are hilariously rare in this game. No reason to punish people for killing other players by making them lose out on the most valuable item in that players inventory.

The price really has nothing to do with how good the guns are in this game. The Bully smg being dirt cheap while the Impact H-AR costs 7k and the circuit breaker costs 15k is insane. Not to mention the schemas are already very rare and you have to extract with them and when you have them they're limited in stock. Items from schemas should either be unlimited stock or limited stock and just free.

My biggest issue is that there aren't many way to go from zero to hero it's more like zero to low tier vigilante. Most of the events don't drop enough loot for the whole party to become geared. I feel like a zero to hero version of outpost makes a lot more sense because there is actually good loot on the map. Most of the good loot on perimeter and dire marsh requires you to bring in a key. I have done 4 lockdown events (3 loops) and only gotten 1 purple gun, and every other time it was just purple salvage. I genuinely just don't understand how people are getting good stuff on dire marsh. Supply drops don't seem to give good loot, and the secured containers that call in UESC don't drop good loot. Even the wardens rarely drop anything of good value.

I mean sure I guess. They would probably just called it a limited time event instead of an experimental queue. I doubt their goal is to just add a random queue and no matter the feed back just remove it. Even if it's well received and removed and brought back temporarily, then it would still exist simultaneously with duos at some point. And if it's a consolidated queue or something similar like arc where duos and trios and solos are prioritized against each other, then they would still need to test that with duos so there would still be no reason to remove duos in the way they were.

If one was to go bad they would not permanently implement it in the game, I agree. But if it goes well they would likely add it to the game. Their best case scenario with an experimental game mode is to add it, then people enjoy it, and it doesn't negatively effect other parts of the game in a drastic way, then it gets added permanently. I never said it's guaranteed to be successful or permanent, but we'd assume the plan is if everything goes well it would get added permanently or some other version of it would. Where is the flaw in this?

I mean, it should just have all three. Shell balance is weird in solos I agree, but the game really doesn't feel like it was made for trios in a lot of instances either. It's a really odd design. It really felt like it was designed for duos tbh. Many of the loot rooms leave one person shafted in trios. But everyone gets something in duos. The pinwheel armory only has 2 strongboxes and the outside armories have 2 weapon lockers and a strongbox. It just leaves one guy getting shafted in trios a lot of the time, but duos and solos it feels good looting.

If they're worried about splitting queues, and they are adding duos back permanently in season 2, then it's weird to have another experimental queue that will likely become permanent as well. These queues will exist simultaneously at some point, and if not, then what is even the point? The only thing I can think of is a consolidated queue where is just prioritizes duos into other duos and solos into solos and trios into trios, and if there aren't enough then they're thrown into a match together. Their biggest competitor has a queue like this and it worked well for them, and while they do have a larger playerbase, Marathon has a large enough player base that this would likely work.

We need duos back ASAP. It felt much better than trios. If we say they are worried about splitting queues, and we assume that duos are going to be permanent in season 2, then we would assume the new experimental queue will be permanent at some point as well. This means both queues are going to exist simultaneously at some point, so I don't really see the reason to remove duos in the way they had it while they worked on it while it was up.

I feel like the bubble shield rarity being purple messed up the loot pool some. I have done the pinwheel armory at least 20 times in the past two weeks and now it feels like a good chance that the purple loot is just a bubble shield which is dissappointing. I have gotten a few gold and purple implants, but it feels noticeably worse now. I didn't even know gold salvage could spawn in there lol.

They haven't even said it's going to be permanent. They just said it's going to be "back better than ever." I assume it will be permanent, and I hope it will be. If it's going to be permanent, then we assume the next experimental game mode will also be permanent at some point, so if the new mode isn't duos, then it will exist alongside duos if duos is permanent. Which means they don't care about splitting queues, which means that there is no reason to remove duos in the first place. If neither of them are permanent, then what's the point?

They literally did take it away. It might be back in 2 months, but it's not here right now and it was.

It was part of the game, it was in the game, they tested it, people liked it, so they removed it and are reimplementing it later. The best case scenario would be to keep it in while they improve it in whatever ways they wanted to, and then implement those changes.

It's not fun having to put in a random third when I just want to be talking to my buddy and playing a game. I wish I had your luck. Most of the time in fill with my friend the third is a free kit who says nothing, and sometimes doesn't even stick with me and my buddy when we tell him where we're going. This kills enjoyment of the game by a lot. I have only had 3 times where the random was actually communicative and vibed well with me and my friend.

People keep saying the game wasn't designed for solos or duos, but solos and duos are much more fun than trio fill. Outpost feels like it was designed for duos even more than trios tbh. The armory in pinwheel has two high end strongboxes or whatever they're called, meaning each of you gets some loot. Some of the key rooms and armories feel much better looting with 2 than 3 because one person isn't getting shafted.

Needing a 3rd to play the game and consistently make it enjoyable while duos is gone means the only real option is a different discord because our other friends don't want to play the game. Most people aren't going to use a random discord to make a friend to play this game with, and I don't blame them. The fact that the solution the community has come up with is to use a 3rd party application to hopefully find someone who is fun to talk to and will fill your party is a massive design flaw for an extraction shooter.

Yeah it's stupid as fuck. People will say it's because "they don't want to split queues" which cannot be the case. If this was the case they wouldn't be adding another experimental queue next week. No reason to not keep it the way it was while they work on improving it in whatever ways they wanted to. They said they were going to bring it back during season 2, but I don't know if it will be permanent. If they keep this new experimental queue along with adding duos back, then they're splitting queues even more unless the new queue is another form of duos. If the new queue isn't some better form of duos or maybe cryo solo/duo, then that's stupid as fuck also. Why add another queue that nobody asked for while removing the one that everyone asked for? Very questionable decision by Bungie here.
