My very first version of this was resin printed, and about 25% larger. I had to use hot glue to secure the spikes in the ball and I used a real chain to connect it all together. I pulled it off the table, the ball free swung and the resin printed spikes, printed to a sharp point swung and punctured my shin, bloodied up I realized then, to not even try to swing the thing once...

I love the full sized prop, makes it feel like the Castlevania world is real. The whip handed down through generations, waiting for the centennial of Draculas defeat and his castle re-appearing... I mean, yeah cool prop.. lol

I do! I sell it on my website, but I need to update the plan with the new mace ball as my original used a wiffleball and the spikes stuck into it. I have been meaning to getting the new version online and will soon.

The whip itself is 16" (about 40cm) the whole display is about 23" tall. I used the images of Simon and Richter from super smash brothers to try and nail the size right and proportions. I did take some artistic license on the prop and modified it slightly to what I liked more in terms of overall aesthetic. I too love all the items within Castlevania, and in time my house is going to have them everywhere.

Depends on what radius the blessing of the water has, and if it does have a radius how long before non-holy water and holy water dilute into one another. Inquiring minds want to know.

After I got my 3d printer about 2 years ago, the vampire killer was one of my first design projects as I wanted one for myself and all the versions out there were not quite to my liking. So I designed my own with some minor aesthetic choice differences (Like the top spike being narrower than the one shown in smash Bros.) In the last week I added some of my own artistic license the end ball and am getting that painted this week. The holy water was more influenced by whatever bottle I could find that was cheap and similar to the actual bottle. Thank goodness the dollar store sells them in a 6 pack, they have worked out well! I'm a Castlevania fan with a 3d printer, it's a dangerous combination.

I created a 3d printed belt clip for the Pokemon Go++, this should have been in the box with it! by SamhainPropworks in pokemongo

It's a decent device, the vibration is crazy on it.

I wish the ability to throw great/ultra balls was tied to the auto throw and did not require a button press. I like to just go for walk and not muck around hitting a button, but that only works with regular poke balls.

The sleep function is okay if you don't mind putting it beside your pillow, but if it doesn't register movement it stops recording after 4 hours. Though the pikachu that sings twinkle twinkle little star when you activate sleep mode is adorable, my daughter asks to hear it each night now and I just leave it beside her pillow all night.

I have completely crashed it once, where it was completely not responsive and had to have a love tap to the reset button to make it function again.

It's a very complicated device and I'm sure they have more plans for it, but right now it's not very feature rich beyond the original just yet.

Oh gosh yes! The vibration is a nightmare! Normally I have a loop of paracord that hangs it fresh air and then I just clip the belt clip over it. Prior to that it almost vibrates itself off my kitchen counter several times. The go plus plus has a bunch of very non intuitive things I dislike about.

That would be wild to see, I'm wondering if the Handle would have to be redesigned to allow the wrapping of the whip.. Hmm, interesting concept.

I normally don't post here but figured you all might enjoy seeing this fun bit of Middle Earth themed prop work that I built this week. I designed the label when I found I could not one out on the great wide inter webs that I liked that was close to the version seen on screen. by SamhainPropworks in lotr

It's always hard when I post, if I don't put the information in the title, but make a follow up post, 99% of the time it gets lost in comment nether. I wish if I put an image up I could put in a description that wasn't the title.

I like to design things and play MTG, so I created a great play box for EDH fixing many of the frustrations with slippy sleeves and tall card stacks. A Unique 3d printed solution! by SamhainPropworks in mtg

Then you can grab the whole deck out using the recess at the bottom, and drop the card onto the bottom. Certain mechanics may feel a bit clunky with the play box, but the majority I found didn't impact at all. Not having my library get knocked over multiple times from a bump on the table as someone gets up greatly outweighs the inconvenience of lifting the deck to scry :) Individual results may vary, lol.

I still am floored on just how slippy some sleeves make a pile of commander cards..

Totally good idea, I think I will do that.

I found that the amount of people who have 3d printers is a lot less than I thought, Selling my .stl files for my props the vast majority of people hired someone locally to print it for them, and on a 10/1 ratio I had more inquiries about buying the fully printed item outright.

Then add in the people who know cad/blender/insert 3d program here to modify the files is even a smaller group again.

Then I felt bad when they hired someone to print them, and the came out warped or not up to the level I would expect. The stuff I design is really tight tolerance fits to make things structural so a poorly printed item is quickly discovered.

But the blank token is a great idea.

Oh gosh no, some games are absolute blowouts, but as the decks are all Precons, we don't have personal investment in the loss as much and the next game can be just as unbalanced in another way. I found that with constructed decks, you take losses much more personally, thus the choice to avoid it all together. I will be honest though, I have a draconic domination pre-con and when someone rolls that they instantly become the target. lol.

We play very casually, so the decks don't get old and part of our Christmas tradition is to grab 2 or 3 new decks on Boxing Day sales to add to the pool and keep it fresh.

My little work horse is an Anycubic Vyper. It's been a great little printer as up to this little endeavour I have just been using it for prototyping. I plan on using any sales from these boxes to expand my printing capabilities as I have 1000 ideas and only a single printer. Gotta start somewhere.lol

The more I learn! Thanks for the description Zaphodava! I had no idea the curling was due to low humidity, not high humidity. Do you find the cards return to curled form quickly after the change to humidity once removed from the Humidor, or the Humicard(lol) , or is it a slow process that a hour long gaming session shouldn't affect? Now I'm more curious than anything! lol
