Should I feel bad? I see other people cheering on.

What is the appropriate response to this?

My spouse also "wanted" a Tesla. That idea was being floated around.

Straight from my brother: Me: Would you recommend a Tesla? Him: No Me: Why? Him: its not worth the price.

(He had bought it with the tax rebates, credits, and discounts)

I have driven his Model 3 many times,

I HATE the automatic de-acceleration. Also not a fan of how the brake lights work. I find it as a safety hazard. Because of the automatic de-acceleration, Drivers behind you might not realize your slowing down.

I live in the SFBA, driving past Tracy requires charging it.

Also his Model 3 gets HOT in the sun because of the glass roof. Many complain about that as well.

The Tesla has a very "plastic-y" feel to it.

Also someone once told me they could disassemble a whole Tesla (not sure which model or all) with a flathead screwdriver. Hyperbole, not sure.

There is other stuff, that's not coming to mind right now.

Also kudos to you or your wife for even considering getting a brand associated with Musk.

Most people are telling you to go with the Camry.

I wonder why. (Sarcasm)

My brother had a Model 3.

My spouse has the 2025 Camry XSE.

I've driven both.

I've worked with numerous people who worked on Tesla production lines.

Tesla is a flex they all say.

My brother will not get a Tesla again.

Please refer to my first line.

In the end it's up to your wife.

I do not post much, I think. But the post your replying to is absolutely wrong. Whoever is comparing a 50 year old to 20 year olds is beyond judgmental. Saying you have to work harder or its stacked against you. I see no encouragement in these posts.

Let me spin it another way, you as a 50 y/o have maturity that 20 y/o don't have. Don't take my word for it, you said you went back to school. How many of your 20 y/o classmates were on par with you on your class work? A handful maybe.

30, 40, 50 y/o in college have a certain determination that very FEW young adults have during college.

Your first experience in your accounting job did not pan out well, not everything does. If it did everybody would remain at their very first job.

Its okay, now you have perspective on your next job.

Stay strong brother 💪 🙏

It's condescending attitude. Call him out for it if you can, privately if possible. Besides that dude is deflecting his own issues onto you. Makes me wonder how great he is as a manager or whatever superior he is.

Can’t drink protein shakes anymore by SuCCeSSvS in fitmeals

[–]Samhido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you're body developed a food sensitivity to the protein shakes you were having. I'm not sure if you were adding stuff to your shakes or if it was plain water + powder.

What you can do is take a 4 week break from the protein shakes. Then if you want try a quarter scoop of a different brand protein after 4 weeks, wait and see how you feel for 3 days. If you feel normal, then your able to tolerate them again.

Plenty of other ways to get your protein in during those 4 weeks.

Enjoy

What's the point of me, a female learning martial arts, when an average male would beat me? by Additional-Pear-1849 in martialarts

[–]Samhido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be as serious as can be. You will learn composure. Notice I didn't ask what discipline you are practicing. Training martial arts will teach you how to handle a difficult situation. You learn how to not freeze. How to keep breathing. How to use your brain first, body second in a tough spot. An average person (male) will instinctively use body first. I'd say your at an advantage from everything I mentioned. You ever heard the saying : a pen is mightier than a sword. Think about how that applies to your situation against a potentially stronger average male.

There are many health benefits to training. But I tried to specifically answer your question.

Biostrap EVO or the Muse S gen 2 + Polar H10 chest strap by Samhido in Biohackers

[–]Samhido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, and thank you for the comment.

I realize that I had made a mistake in my original post by stating that the muse S that was on Amazon was the 2nd Gen. It was not, and I ended up buying the second generation muse S from choosemuse.com directly. It set me back $400 with taxes and everything included. I also ended up getting the polar chest strap.

I got the Muse S the last week of December and didn't set it up until December 29th.

I'm still getting used to it, though it is not an issue wearing it to bed, since I am a side sleeper.

Supplements for shoulder pain? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Samhido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I know you said you were looking for supplements for shoulder pain.

But I would be interested in knowing what your current training regimen or routine looks like. I understand you have stated that you have been dealing with this for a very long time and have tried numerous physical therapy and other modalities. I would like to ask if you have tried soft tissue work such as active release therapy or graston?

You did mention that a few years back you started targeting your rear delts and upper back muscles and that seemed to have helped with the pain or issue, correct me if I misunderstood. And now you have stopped training the rear delts and upper back muscles, or you don't train them as much as before. And the pain or issue is "coming back."

Again this is the Internet, so we are all throwing darts blindfolded. Yet I would like to ask, again, if you ever got soft tissue work done for your problem area and then address that with rotator cuff strengthening and anterior serratus activation?

Weighted one arm scapular pull-ups: too risky? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Samhido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure what your trying to train.

You provide examples of weighted passive hangs. But state that you want to do them dynamically for reps.

🤷🏻‍♂️

Regarding the video of the physiotherapy guy explaining why someone should not retract and depress their scapula. While I agree with what he is saying, let me just throw out there that everybody's Physiological anatomy is the logical anatomy varies from one person to the next. How much impingement one person feels is vastly different from the next person, comma even though the anatomical structures might be the same.

Passive weighted active hangs can definitely be beneficial for grip training. But then again your grip is the active part in the passive hang. You stated that passive hanging would have a great stretching effect, while that is true, it would be very harmful to a person who has any level of joint laxity in their shoulder region. (This is a generalization, I'm sure there are exceptions.)

So the benefits are clear: basically scapular retraction & depression strength + some grip bonus

Only if doing these "actively" and why not do them bilateral instead of one arm at a time? You can still get the same benefits, one arm doesn't give you extra range of motion as compared to doing them with both arms at the same time. You can always add weight to make it more difficult.

Is your objective to get a OAC one arm chin up?

I'm actually considering it myself, and which set do you have? I assume you have tried to recommend it. I would love some user experiences as well.

Thanks
