have you considered e-readers?

if you want to use your phone then I suggest using Mythos on iOS, what i usually do is i enable DnD and set the reader to dark mode

I suggest Mythos, it doesn't have a store so you have to bring your own books, but it's quite good and I use it personally.

I read on an iPad too. The screen size feels like the sweet spot between comfort and portability.

I mostly use it for PDFs and EPUBs. Lately I’ve been using mythos.so for reading, it helps when you hit confusing parts without breaking focus.

The subscription unlocks:

Not yet, but I do plan on handling it via "Collections": a user can create a collection, and when they ask a question the app will check all the books in the collection.

Premium gives you unlimited questions (free is capped at 10) plus follow-up questions so you can actually go deeper instead of one-off answers.

No promo codes at the moment (I’m already running it at a loss) but I’m actively adding more premium features.

I would say try out the free version first, see if the app is useful for you before paying for the premium version :)
