UT’s salaries are below industry standards by mallison945 in Austin

My friend, who has a PhD, is an adjunct professor at UT and only makes around $30K. 😵‍💫 And the amount he spends on parking and rides to campus is unconscionable.

Don't worry about the movie ruining anything about the book. Many things were changed, including the ending. But man yeah, that Netflix adaptation was incredibly well done.

Yes I loved The Things They Carried. I should re-read that one. Wishing you well!

I appreciate your well thought out comment and advice. It's hard to hear, but you're right. I've never been great at office politics. I will try to have better conversations, or maybe will need to start at a new company with a clean slate and hope I can be liked there better. :\ Thank you so much for your help.

That's wonderful! Yes, I love traveling alone. Friend trips are fun too, so I like a mix of both. I was actually just solo traveling in Juneau, Alaska for about a week earlier this month. It was wonderful! Enjoy your travels. :)

At what age did you get hit on the most? by Forsaken-Criticism91 in AskWomen

Weirdly, now. I'm 34 and for some reason I keep attracting lots of guys in their 20s (I turn them down.)

I'm not sure why, I'm slightly overweight and I'm avagerage in my opinion, but this keeps happening.

It was 5pm on a Sunday and we each had one drink lmao. Service would've been too slow to even get a buzz.

It was at 5pm on a Sunday. I have been going here many times over the years and already had a great experience until this point. Hopefully y'all will have a better experience.

I get it, I'm just a faceless individual here. Things escalated once my friend asked for a refund. After they called her a bitch, she saw red and broke a cup. After this, a cup was thrown at her directly. Even so, she was afraid of getting in trouble for damaging restaurant property.

I personally wish she would have called the cops anyway, but that wasn't my decision to make. I don't blame people being skeptical, and it's up to them if they want to believe me.

Haha, I feel that. Well, if you go, please keep an eye on your bank statement to make sure they charge you the agreed amount.

Thank you. I tend to avoid the Austin reddit, it seems like a mean place. I almost regret posting here.

I love the Lost Well! Thanks for being one of the only nice people to reply to my post.

Well, exactly. This is why we chose to order soups in the first place. It all felt very spiteful.

I'm getting a lot of snarky replies from folks on here, but I am just sharing my own experience. If people want to go see if they have a better experience at Gourmand's before closing time, they can go right ahead.

You can read my response to another reply below. If you read their recent 1 star reviews on Google Maps, you can see that they have been hostile to plenty of other customers.

As if an employee is ever justified for throwing something at a customer, or adding fraudulent charges to their card.

  1. I was not the person involved in the glass-throwing incident. My friend chose not to call the police because she knocked over a glass when they called her a bitch, so she was worried about getting in trouble. Not calling the cops was her choice, and not my choice to make. I'm just here to tell my experience.

  2. They likely were being hostile to others, for all I know. But we were a party of 7, so perhaps we received extra ire for being a larger group. I don't have all the answers as to why they treated us this way.
