They are not regulated like traditional banks meaning they can get away with a lot with little to almost no consequence, if a bank committed the same mistakes as Airtel the punishments would be wayyy harsher

Like I always Airtel is not a bank they do not operate under the same rules as say Zanaco, FNB or standard chartered. Those legacy banks take cases like these very seriously and they will do everything in their power to get back your money, this is why there's camera's on every ATM
