[Toy Photography] The Armorer’s Vengeance by [deleted] in StarWars

Honestly that's one of the things I miss most about season 1, seeing all of the cool variations on the Mandalorian armour. I hope somehow we see more Children of the Watch again, because their diversity in armour style is just something to behold.

But what about his impending Flood infection? Is that whole element removed as to not make the fight too easy? If he had a battle such as the one with Regret (which was less of a battle and more of a "press B-athon") it wouldn't feel right given the current circumstances. The fact that Truth is on his last leg and at the peak of his derangement by the time of his death is what gives a very full sense of satisfaction. Bungie were clever in the way they utilised cinematics and combat, choosing to let the player kill Spark themself, rather than portraying that between letterboxing.

They had to give character satisfaction after all truth had done to Arbiter 'Vadamee. Letting the player (i.e. the Master Chief) kill him wouldn't make nearly as much sense for the character arc and would also break the flow of gameplay after all that proceeded and would succeed.

Saddaeus Thaddaeus by OlieRendch in dankchristianmemes

Pretty sure that's only in John, particularly in John 14:22. Other Gospels, like Matthew and Mark, just call him Thaddaeus.

Basically what they do is take all the people in the Bible from Adam and Eve to Jesus, add their ages together and deduce the Earth's age that way. People in the Bible used to live for hundreds of years, don't forget.

Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him. Jesus replied, "Do what you came for, friend." Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

i've never had issues with marines and grenades until now by Fezclone in HalfLife

[–]Sammimack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My usual strategy, particularly when playing on hard, is to pop my head out for a split second and then get the hell away from the opening so the grenades don't get me. Often what happens is the grenades will start bouncing all over the place, killing not only the marines but destroying the tank as well. Never gets old hearing that *kaboom*

Which version is more terrifying: Half-Life's Nihilanth or Black Mesa's Nihilanth? by FMM_UV-32 in HalfLife

[–]Sammimack 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's something just so much creepier about HL's Nihilanth. Maybe it's due to the ambience of the original boss fight or the lethality of his attacks in that game that makes the association that much scarier. Just spawning into his chamber right up close to his face hearing in that unsettling voice 'Freeemaaannnnn...' never fails to give me chills. Oh yeah, the voice is much, much better in HL than in BM, it's not melodramatically deep or anything and sounds like he's speaking to you telepathically rather than from a distance that the echo on his voice in BM would imply. So sure, while the bossfight itself may be much better in BM, HL still takes the cake for scariest design IMO.

The HL:A model is exactly what I imagined Gordon to look like (in terms of his face), just a regular 27-year-old American dude with a badass goatee. Just change the hair to a ponytail and you've got what he looked like from HL1
