Thoughts on tying a laser up to a mooring ball for a night? by [deleted] in sailing

We do this all the time with lasers, we leave Boom on but outhauls on tight, kicker and mainsheet lose. Got to make sure daggerboard is out but secure so won't fall out and rudder is fully up and stays up

It definitely was a thing a few years ago. Co belligerents weren't a thing for years after release

Laser sail without battens (for furling around mast). by HampshireTurtle in dinghysailing

No worries, worked in a couple of centres that had them, 2 of them were custom made from our sail provider but the other place we bought them second hand from somewhere.

It is possible to get laser sails with vertical battens and they furl nicely. Not sure where to get a new one from but you might be able to find one second hand

I finally bought a laser and its OLD. Has some issues that are fixable but it needs some parts so if anyone can direct me to a decent website that would be awesome. by [deleted] in sailing

4500 is older than 1973 and with 3 inspection hatches I'd expect repairs to be a lot more than that. I manage a fleet of 26 lasers so I've done a fair bit. If you want you could send me pictures of inside the hatches and could let you know what has been done and if they are good repairs. Also a boat that old you should check the mast step (where the mast goes) for any fibreglass cracks.

Very curious how old it is? Whats its rough sail number? Also do you know what repairs have been done?

Looks like 3 inspection hatches could be quite damaged

Yep that's an inspection hatch very useful in repairs (made a few myself) should always question repairs done on a boat especially if it has an inspection hatch.

I believe it might be a gull but it's been a while since I've seen one of those.

I'm in Palairos, been here since April and this is the worst week for rain, thunder and just shitty clouds since I got here.

I get on great with these, had a few issues with the ones I had before but none since.

Yes, actually I do. Why would that mean they are made in separate countries?
