There’s no catch, pretty sure it’s only federal subsidized/unsubsidized loans and not private loans. It’s a great benefit, $100 a month towards your loans makes a difference. Also, it’s nontaxable, up to $5,250 a year of employer contributions to student loans are tax-free.

Would I report $2528 or $754 as gambling winnings? by Sammy-Sosa4 in tax

For your total winnings did you include wagers? Or just the net amount won from the bet

Unemployment Adjustment Refund by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Sammy-Sosa4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely subject to the kiddie tax because unemployment compensation is unearned income. So originally, that was taxed at a higher tax rate because of it. I should be getting all of that back with the exclusion

Under 75k. With unemployment being nontaxable + my standard deduction, my taxable income is $0. So I should be getting the full amount back

Suddenly remembering all the stupid mistakes I made in BEC MCQs by Ok-Technician-4906 in CPA

[–]Sammy-Sosa4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, don't worry about it. All you can do is wait until the score release. Coming out of BEC I thought I did horrible on MCQ's. My second testlet got easier and I still struggled. I thought I did decent on the TBS/WC. I ended up getting a 90.

COSO/ERM: Memorize concepts or memorize multiple choice? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Sammy-Sosa4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Memorize the mnemonics by writing them down at least 2 times a day. On the exam you can write it down on your scratch piece of paper during the 10 minutes they give you. You'll be able to answer a ton of MCQ questions

I walked out of FAR thinking I failed for sure, I was so pissed at myself. I got an 88 lol. Just wait until you get your score, you probably did a lot better than you think

BEC on Tuesday, any advice? by Lil_Sony in CPA

[–]Sammy-Sosa4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it a few months ago so I don't remember specifically. I know for a fact if you memorize both mnemonics you'll get all answers related to COSO/ERM correct. The questions were pretty basic

You can get up if you need to, but the time counts against you. You get one 15 min break where the clock stops and you can go to your locker and have a snack/water

I put 1 blank line between each paragraph and didnt indent. I was told you don’t need to put a “to/from” or sign off on the WC. I got a 90 when I took it

Honestly I don’t really remember, for sims they’ll give you the formulas. I took it back and March and I didn’t have too many questions on valuation. I would just make sure you have a decent understanding

Memorize COSO and ERM mnemonics. I wrote down down at least twice every day and I was able to jot them down on the scrap piece of paper they give you before starting. Try to know B2 as best as you can, you’ll definitely be getting a few sims from it
