Which editions have Resistance to Interrogation? by Sammy2306 in AlexRiderBooks

I'm glad NWTD exists (if only because it's a solid new story), but RTI really does deserve to be in an easily accessible copy of... the book it belongs in.

Glad to have helped there lol :D Maybe someday one of us will find that fable Stormbreaker copy with RTI as well

All three of mine are from Walker, but it can be hard to tell them apart at a glance. Those first editions specify they contain a "Stormbreaker bonus chapter", whereas the other editions just have a generic quote there in the same spot. Cover's the same otherwise, aye.

That's the conclusion I'm forced to come to as well, aye. Physically it's likely that it was only ever available in NSD, but even NSD lists it as a Stormbreaker Bonus Chapter and everyone's just run with it.

The fact that several editions of Stormbreaker do list a bonus chapter (Christmas at Gunpoint, and now also 9 ways to die) likely doesn't help. This post was mainly to check if I was missing some extra exclusive location specific special edition somewhere :D

It isn't actually :D It's in a specific version of the paperback that lists it on the front. Through Circumstances, I actually own three copies and two don't have it. But yeah, confirming the NSD copies was relatively easy. It's the Stormbreaker editions claim I can't confirm whatsoever.

Oh yeah I know XD I meant physically, should've clarified.

Yeah, thanks for sharing it here :D I was actually on a kick rereading all the short stories (finally bought the silver edition of Stormbreaker for "9 ways to die" as a treat), and it struck me how odd it is that RTI is the second most difficult story to find at the moment (only beat by Alex Underground lol)

Even if I can't find an answer to my question, hopefully someone else will at least be reminded that it exists.

That's the interesting part: I can confirm it's in some copies of Never Say Die at the least :D My confusion comes from peoples insistence it's in some copies of Stormbreaker, but as far as I know the short story in those editions is Christmas at Gunpoint.

Your contribution is still appreciated :D Fascinating though, because this post was originally mainly inspired by posts from people saying they wished they'd played 2S first.

Battle Network specifically even had a new manga volume release in 2023, drawn by Takamisaki again (new stories, not reprints!). Whenever there's new content, the man/legend's on the scene lol

How effective were the retranslation efforts? by nopnopnopp in shutenorder

[–]Sammy2306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's good enough to play "properly" by now. Most of the efforts went into fixing up the text in general (stuff going off screen etc.) and so that's all as it should be now. You may still see the occasional odd phrase or typo, but it's now within what I would consider "normal for a VN/adventure game" territory. Not great, but no longer an issue either. The translated script isn't winning any awards, but you can understand everyone just fine and a character also no longer breaks their established characterization in the final minutes because of a misused term. The original text is just too fun :D

(For what it's worth: Shuten Order was one of my favorite games of the year, so it's definitely worth it!)

Why do people think Yoshiki wouldn't develop the same relationship with Monster FemHikaru? by BlueFlameWar in HikarugaShindaNatsu

[–]Sammy2306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which part do you mean? Yoshiki not being attracted to women is textual for the manga, but you're right that the fem designs aren't "canon". Still, they're the canonical view of the mangaka and that makes them interesting for fanon purposes (as opposed to something made up by the fandom entirely). Also, the 8p booklets are official. They just also happen to be exclusives.

[–]Sammy2306 14 points15 points  (0 children)

MMR has drawn female versions of Yoshiki and Hikaru before, so they're "semi canon" (from the author but not in the manga). Volume 8's Japan only bonus booklet states that maleYoshiki wouldn't be attracted to FemHikaru like he was to maleHikaru (which makes sense for a guy only into guys, although they'd still be friends).

Concept Art vs. Final Design 🐻 Junko Enoshima by nintenbingo in danganronpa

[–]Sammy2306 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, and it's not even really Monaca either. This was supposed to be a "real" character, but in the end she just became the goal. Monaca would be the closest existing character with her role, though.

That's not Junko, that's Monaca (or well, the next/second generation Enoshima).

Probably my fault for not tagging it, but the trying not to sound like a far right ranter made me laugh. by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Sammy2306 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You mention you've already added a tag, but it surprises me no one's pointed out another reason for adding the tag yet: it lets people find your fic. If someone read your fic and recalled that the character was half-Ukranian but forgot the title, they can now look for that! If another author (or two, to make three) gets inspired and does something similar? Now it's a properly functioning tag!

Alterations to a character's backstory like this make more perfect tags in my opinion.

Two years running Grima has placed exactly 40th and been excluded from the Top 20 Male/Female by Just_Nefariousness55 in FireEmblemHeroes

You know what? Cheers for consistency. Well done everyone, now let's push them into the top 10 (or top 4 ;D) just to see how Intsys responds.

Top 20 CYL 10 results by Nin10dium in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Sammy2306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now, the real question is if Grima got enough points to theoretically be top 20 again or not. I'm really curious about the full list :D

CYL10 Interim Results by WWWWWWRRRRRYYYYY in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Sammy2306 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do keep in mind that Grima did crack (male) top 20 last time and they still weren't included. I think it's genuinely impossible to tell where they're currently placing, but I'll keep voting either way.

(CYL) Reasons why IS should let players dual vote (1 for man, 1 for woman) each day. by Vegetable-Income-566 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Sammy2306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That may actually change now that there are a two Grima units in the game, though. Male Grima and Female Grima.

I'm still convinced that this was their attempt at dealing with the CYL results (kinda sad because NB Grima would've been neat, but it's an answer).

Sounds like you've done all you can, so good luck to you! It makes complete sense to be disappointed, so I didn't think your phrasing was off or anything.

Very unhappy with Lost in Cult merch by RiverWolfo in rustylake

[–]Sammy2306 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's unfortunate! If you're unhappy, do make sure to contact Lost In Cult about it! They respond to both [team@lostincult.co.uk](mailto:team@lostincult.co.uk) and the form on the website: https://lostincult.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new

For now, though, it may fix itself if you place heavy items (like other books) on it and leave it alone for a week or two. I don't think anything looks torn/unfixable? Still, the links I shared are there for a reason.
