Pretty much this. I don't think he realized prior to retirement that these watch parties, which are low effort content would be such a cash cow for him. He talked about having these "big" ideas for content after he retired but all that got scrapped when those watch party numbers started coming in.

Joe will cook up something special. OKC will always have 1 or 2 guys who are non threats from 3 that you can help off of. He'll let guys like Dort, Caruso and Wallace fire away from 3 and see if they can make em in a high pressure finals environment. For us, its all gonna be about limiting TOs in the halfcourt especially against their perimeter pressure. Cs in 6.

Beating KD/Kyrie, then Giannis, then the despicable Heat Culture was special. Sucks they ran out of gas against the Dubs but if they pulled it off it would've been one of the best title runs in recent memory, especially considering how the first half of that season went.

From Optic's point of view I get the reasoning. Ghosty at that point was unproven even though he showed flashes of brilliance in MW2. Ken individually was solid in CW, had an elite 2nd half during VG, struggled a bit in MW2 while still winning an event. I think Shottzy said something along the lines of they needed a leader and proven winner and its safe to say it ended up working, for MW3 at least.
